          I hate this, always taking advantage of me. When is he going to learn that he just can’t kiss me any time that he wants? I really didn’t want to break the kiss though because it felt so right. But now was not the time or the place for it. I regretfully pushed him away.

        “Tyler, this is not the place or time for this. We really need to talk,” I said looking into his eyes.

        “I know we do. And I promise that we will. Let’s get back to the game though.” With that, he started off. I guess he was expecting me to follow, but I went the opposite way.

        The whole game I was sneaking around, trying to avoid both Tyler and Brian. It was very successful. Though one time I was there, and I saw Brian coming one way, and turned to go the other way and I saw Tyler. I guess that they also saw each other and I moved while they distracted each other.

         The gong finally sounded for the end of the game. I got out of there as quickly as I could and went and stood over by Joyce and Kim as we waited for them to show our scores and see which team won. Tyler came and stood behind me. I wanted to lean back into him, but that would be bad. I don’t really know if I wanted the others to know yet.

        It turned out that the high-schoolers won. But who really cares? It’s just a fun game anyways.

        So my group was standing there, debating whether or not we should play a third game. I silently hoped that we would go. I really didn’t want to play another game while trying to avoid Tyler, and possibly Brian. The high school kids only usually play two games too. I was so glad that the group decided that was enough for the night.

        On the car ride home it was quiet until Noah brought up the Brian thing. “So Mel, what did you do to make that high school kid so mad at you?”

        “Do you guys really want to know?” I asked. I turned around and saw them all nodding at me. I let out a sigh of frustration and stared at the road ahead. “Fine. During the first game, he kept bumping into me, and at one point he told me to meet him outside after the first game. So I went out there, thinking that there would be no harm. He introduced himself and then asked if I had a boyfriend. I said no, and then he kissed me.” I blushed and looked over at Tyler. I couldn’t tell if this upset him or not. He just kept a straight face. So I continued on.

        “But then I broke it off. I told him that I really liked someone else. He just laughed at me and tried to kiss me again, so I slapped him and walked away. I didn’t want to find out what he would do, so that’s why I asked you guys to help keep him away.”

        It was silent after that until Tyler put his hand on my knee. “Well, that’s all over now, so let’s talk about something else.”

        He left his hand there for almost the whole ride back to campus. I put my hand on top of his and just left it there as we entwined our fingers together. 15 minutes later we arrived back on campus. As we got out of the car, it started to sprinkle, so Kim, Joyce and Noah walked quickly towards the building.

        Tyler and I took our time. It’s nice to walk in the rain, and plus I figured that maybe I could try to get something out of Tyler as to why he was behaving like he was lately.

        “So, Tyler,” I said.

        All of a sudden he turned and grabbed me and pulled me up against him. “I can’t do this anymore. I just can’t,” he whispered as he put his forehead against mine.

        “Tyler! What can’t you do?” I asked him, unsure of what to do.

        “It’s just that, I just don’t know what to do anymore! I just, I’m so confused!”

        “Tyler, what are you talking about? I can help you figure it out.”

        As I looked into his eyes, I saw many emotions there. Fear, pain, confusion, and even love. “Melanie, I’m bi. And I’m stuck between two people. You and Dave.”

        I just looked at him in shock. He’s bi, what a shocker. I’m being sarcastic, because I kind of figured that out by the way that he acts. But then again, he said that he likes me. Now what am I supposed to do?

        I didn’t want to be in that kind of situation. When that does happen, they always pick the other person over me, and I’ve had enough of that. It really sucks being the alternative to the person.

         Right then there was a crack of lightning, and then it started to pour, so we quickly ran to the dorms. We were drenched by the time we got to the dorms.

        Just as I was about to tell him I was going to change and that we still needed to talk, I got a phone call. The number was unfamiliar to me, but it had the area code of where I was from, so I answered it.

        “Hello?” I asked.

        “Hi Melanie,” said a voice. That voice! It was so familiar, but yet it couldn’t be him. Why would he call me now of all times? Especially when he never talked to me throughout high school.

        “Darrin, is that you?” I asked.

        “Yeah, it’s me,” he replied.

        I leaned up against a nearby wall and sunk down to the floor. Tyler just gave me a look and mouthed “call me later” as he went inside his dorm. I just nodded in response. “So Darrin, to what do I owe the pleasure of this phone call?’

        “Melanie, I’ve been thinking a lot lately. I really need to talk to you.”

        In my head, I just thought, what could he possibly need to talk to me about?
