            Early the next day, I was on my way to the Student Center to print off a paper that I had just written the night before. It sucks not having a printer. Well, anyways I was walking down the sidewalk. To the left was a parking lot, and to the right were parking meters, and behind them here hedges that were to my shoulders. I looked ahead and saw the guy from last night heading my way.

             I turned around to go back inside and took a couple of steps before I saw another guy walk down the steps from the entrance to the dorms. It was my creepy stalker guy, otherwise known as Stalker Dave. He was always either trying to get me to go hang out in his room, where it would be just us, or he would try to come up to my room.

          So, I was stuck. Should I face the guy from last night, or Stalker Dave? Not knowing what else to do, I jumped behind the hedge. I really didn’t know what else to do, and it was the nearest thing that I could hide behind. In my head, I was laughing at myself, and how much this would be like a scene from a TV show or something.

          I closed my eyes and decided to wait a couple minutes before trying to see if it was safe to continue on my way. It wasn’t even a minute before I heard the hedges moving. I opened my eyes and went to turn around, but someone grabbed me from behind and put their hand over my mouth. They turned me around and the next thing I knew, I was facing the guy from last night.

          “Hello,” he said with a smirk on his face. “Fancy meeting you here.”’

          “Hi there. I was just, uh” I said stammering.

          “Trying to get away from me, eh?” he said with a knowing smile.

          Am I really that obvious? I hope not. “Not at all!” I told him. “I just remembered that I forgot something in my room, and when I turned around to go back, I saw this guy who I would rather not run into. You have no idea how creepy it is to have a stalker,” I said.

          “A stalker? That’s serious. Do you want me to take care of it for you?” he asked with concern in his eyes.

          “No thanks. I don’t even know you, and it’s not too serious. It’s just this really creepy guy always either asking me to go hang out in his room, or he wants to come up to my room. So far, I have been able to avoid it. But thanks anyway, um, I’m sorry, but I don’t know your name.” I said.

          “Jack. My name is Jack Anderson. And you are Melanie Tanders. Now that we are formally introduced, we can talk about what happened last night.” He said with laughter in his eyes.

          “Oh that,” I said blushing. “Well, to tell you the truth, it was just a dare. I was dared to kiss the next guy who walked through the doors, providing that he didn’t have a girlfriend of course.”

          “Oh, so that was why you asked if I had a girlfriend or not. I see,” he said.

          He sounded so disappointed of the reason that I asked him the question last night. I had to know why! “You sound disappointed. Why is that?”

          “Well, think about it from my position. A gorgeous woman walks up to you and asks you if you’re single. And then when you give her your answer and she kisses you, you hope that she was interested in kissing you for some reason other than a dare.” He said looking away.

          “I see,” I said looking at the ground. “Well, let me tell it from my point of view. If I wasn’t dared to do what I did, I never would have kissed you, and we wouldn’t even care if we passed each other when we walk by. But this has given us the opportunity to change that.”

          He then looked up at me, and we held gazes for what seemed like forever. Next thing I knew our faces were only inches apart. “I guess I judged it wrong.” He said as he kissed me.

          I was just wondering how nice his kisses are, when I became aware of where we were located. If someone looked out the window, we would be spotted, and I find that kind of awkward.

          “Um, Jack? Do you think we could have found a better place to do this?” I asked with a laugh.

          He looked around and gave a laugh. “I guess we could have found a better spot. Now, where was it that you were off to again?” he asked, helping me find my way out from behind the hedge.

          “I was off to the Student Center. I guess that I’ll see you around then?” I said walking backwards away from him.

          “Yeah. Hey Melanie, how about we do dinner tonight, at DC1?” He asked.

          I walked back over towards him. “Wait, is this just a dinner between friends, or a date?” I ask casually.It looks like I had actually made him blush! Oh, he is so adorable! But anyways…

          “Well, you can make it out to be whatever you want. I say it’s just dinner so we can get to know each other a little better. How about we meet in the lobby at 6:30 and then walk over?” he says.           

          “I guess 6:30 it is,’ I said as I kissed him on the cheek and then went on my way to the Student Center. “I’ll see you later!” I called over my shoulder.

             After I had gotten back to my dorm from my class, I laid on my comfy bed, also known as the pink monster, since it’s all pink, and let out a sigh. I looked over to my right and saw my roommate sitting on the bed, doing nothing. As you may have guessed, either Kim or Joyce was my roommate. And that is Joyce. Kim is my suitemate. All three of us are crazy together, and we go almost everywhere together.

            Anyways, I couldn’t contain my excitement over my dinner that night with Jack that I had to tell someone. So I got up and jumped on her bed. “Joyce! Guess what!”

            “I don’t know! Why don’t you tell me?” she said.                    “Well, you know that guy from last night? The one I had to kiss for that dare? Well, I’m having dinner with him tonight! I’m so excited!” I said getting up and doing a happy dance in the middle of the room. 

           “Wow, that is good news. Good for you.” She said giving me a hug. “Oh, and one more thing. While you were at class, Tyler stopped by. He said that he needed to talk with you ASAP, and he wants you to give him a call,” she said.

            Suddenly, what happened last night between me and him came rushing back. I smacked myself on the forehead. What am I going to do?
