                Hey there. I’m Melanie, otherwise known as Mel. I am a college student at Eastern Michigan University. Yeah, yeah, yeah, college.  I bet that you think it’s this great place where all you do is party, party, party. Hah, you couldn’t be farther from the truth. 

               It’s mostly work, work, work. Well, not really, unless in the classes you take, your professor likes to give you a lot of homework. Let me tell you, writing papers is such a bitch! Especially about the week before finals, where they try to get everything in. And sometimes you stay up until three or four, maybe five in the morning just to get them done. Energy pills do such wonders! 

                This leads me into what my friends and I do during time when it gets really boring. Many, may I say, interesting, things have happened during those lulls. We also like to hang out with one of my RA’s quite a bit, which is what we were doing when it all started. 

               My friends and I were hanging out with Ashley down in the lobby of the dorm. I was down there with Kim, Joyce, Noah and Tyler. Ashley was on night watch duty, and it was from 10pm until 4am, so we decided to keep her company so that she wouldn’t fall asleep. We were just talking, and suddenly the next thing I knew, we were playing truth or dare. Things were getting kinda of slow at the door, so we were trying to guess whether the next person out of the door would be a male or female. One of my friends had an idea.

                “Hey Mel, I have a dare for you,” said Tyler. 

               “What is it?” I asked, eyeing him suspiciously. He knows that I can’t turn down a dare.

                He got up and walked over to the door and looked in through the window. I dare you to kiss the next guy who walks through the door.” He said with a big grin on his face. 

               I stood up and joined him over by the door. “I’ll only do that on two conditions,” I said poking him in the chest with a gleam in my eyes.

                “And they would be what?” he asked. 

               “That I will only kiss the guy if he doesn’t have a girlfriend, and that you kiss the next girl who walks through the door.” I said daring him to defy me.

                “Fine,” he said, and walked away without saying another word.

                I just laughed and went to sit back down with the others. I stopped when I heard the door open. Everyone was holding their breath to see who walked through the door. I turned around and to my good fortune, I saw a girl walk through the door. She was pretty, if you ask me. Quite tall, and she was a redhead. I wish I could have hair like that. I looked back over at Tyler as he was standing up to go over to her to do his part of the dare. 

               She was getting checked in by Ashley, when he grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her to face him. She had a look of surprise on her face as Tyler bent in and kissed her. It was just a short kiss, after which he pulled away. He just looked at her, gave a shrug and said, “I’m sorry, but it was a dare. I had to kiss the next girl who walked through the door.” 

               She didn’t say anything, but she gained her composure and opened the door and quickly walked through so she could go to her room. 

               It was quiet for a moment as we all just thought about what had happened. Suddenly, Kim started giggling, which then made all of us start laughing.

                 “Did you see the look on her face? It was like she couldn’t get away fast enough!” Ashley said bending over laughing. 

               I was doubled over with laughter, when suddenly it went really quiet. I looked up at the others, and the look on their faces made me stop laughing. I turned around and saw why they went quiet. And the person standing there could only be described as eye candy.

                He was about 6’4, with dark brown hair, and striking blue eyes. He was wearing a black t-shirt that was form-fitting on his chest. His arms were muscle. With just a move of his arm, you could tell that he likes to stay fit. 

               All of a sudden, I remembered the dare. I had to kiss him! Providing that he doesn’t have a girlfriend, of course. I looked back at everyone, gave a nervous smile, and then went over to where he was standing, waiting for Ashley to give him the OK to go in.

                So, there I stood, behind this guy, who shall I say, is just about the hottest guy ever? And I was just supposed to kiss him? I already had butterflies in my stomach just at the thought of what I had to do. I stood on my tiptoes, since I myself am only about 5’4”, and I tapped him on the shoulder. 

               He turned around and smiled at me, looking me over. “Yes,?” he asked.

                 Oh, he had a sexy voice. One so deep, it felt as it would melt the flesh off of you. “Um, do you have a girlfriend?” 

               He drew his brows together, while there was a laughing look in his eyes. “No, why do you ask?” 

               “Well, because,” I said looking at the ground, “this,” I said looking him in the eyes. I stood on my toes and kissed him.
