     Dan Jr. and Caiden were sitting on the bus, heading towards home. Dan was talking enthusiastically to another boy whom he had just met in class earlier that day, while Caiden was sitting by himself, lost in thought about what had happened earlier. He could't seem to get Carlee out of his mind.

     Just as he was thinking about her, he heard a voice in his head again. It was Carlee again. "Why can I hear her thoughts?" Caiden asked himelf. "Why can't I hear anyone else thoughts then too? I have to talk to Uncle Damien about this." he thought. 

     The bus stopped, and the boy who Dan was talking to got off. The bus started up again, and Dan found someone else to talk to. Caiden was looking at Carlee, trying to figure her out. He was about to look away when he heard her voice, but again, her lips weren't moving. "I can't wait to go home and see my mommy. This has been a weird day. And why is that Caiden boy always staring at me? I bet he's even staring at me right now."

     Caiden quickly looked away from her. He was in luck. The bus had just pulled up in front of his house. As the boys got off the bus, Colleen got out of the car. They ran up to her and gave her a hug.

     "So, how was your first day of school boys?" she asked, as they got into the car.

     "It was good," they said simultaneously.

      "Mom! You'll never guess what happened! I met this new kid today, and..." said Dan.

      Caiden decided to drown out his brother's chatter. He had to listen to it all day in class and the bus ride home. He was lost deep in thought, and he didn't notice Colleen looking at him through the rearview mirror with a look of concern.

     They finally pulled up in front of the house. As they got out of the car, Dan raced up the front steps and into the house. Caiden slowly walked to the house while staring at the ground.

     "Caiden? Is everything alright honey?" Colleen asked, going over to him and putting an arm around him.

     "Oh, yeah, everything is fine." he said startled. "It's just, there is something that I need to talk to uncle Damien about," he said as he then took off for the house. Colleen stared off after him with concern.

     Once inside the house, Caiden used his speed to get to the 4th floor, since he didn't want to go through his parents room. He went over to the bed and pushed the button and the elevator doors opened. "I still think that is the coolest thing ever. An elevator in the house." he said smiling to himself as he got in and pressed the button for the basement.

     The elevator doors reopened and he stepped out into the basement. "UNCLE DAMIEN!" he called out.

     "Just one moment buddy." Damien said. The next instant, Damien was standing right on front of Caiden. "So, what can I help you with?" he asked, getting down on his knees and looking at him.

     "Well, there wa this thing that happened at school today," Caiden started.

     "Oh, school. Was it the lunch thing?" he asked, leading Caiden over towards the couch.

     "Actually no. It is this girl." Caiden said blushing.

     "A girl eh? What is so special about this girl? Did she kiss you?" Damien siad laughing.

     "No. I could hear her thoughts." Caiden said staring at the floor again.

     Suddenly, the room got too quiet. "Caiden, are you sure that you heard her thougts?" Damien asked, very seriously.

     "Yeah, I'm positive. First, the class was introducing ourselves. That's when I first saw her. I heard her speak. then a moment later, i heard her voice again, but only rhis time, her lips weren't moving. It also happened while I was on the bus. Why is this happening uncle Damien? Why can I hear her thoughts, and no one else's?"

     Damien stood up and started pacing. "I never thought that it could happen at such a young age," he mumbled to himself.

     "You never thought that what could happen at such a young age Uncle Damien?"

     Damien stopped pacing and looked over at Caiden. "Well, you're too young to know the whole thing right now. But, I can tell you that when you are able to hear the thoughts of someone else, you have a very special bond with that person."

      "So, Carlee and I have a special bond? That's so cool! i can't wait to tell her!" Caiden said excitedly.

     "Hold on there buddy. You can't tell Carlee anything, not yet. you aren't  ready, and neither is she. So, for now, don't tell her anything about your special bond." Damien said.

     "Ok, if you say so," Caiden said disappointed.

     "Is there anything else that I can help you with?" Damien asked.

     "Nope, that's all. Thanks Uncle Damien," he said as he got up and headed for the elevator.

     "Ok buddy. Just remember that I'll be right here if you want to talk about anything else." Damien called after him. Caiden turned around and waved then stepped into the elevator.

     "Who would have thought that you could find your beloved at such a young age." he asked himself in wonder.
