The School Bus part 2

Horror Created on 6-25-07 Views(167) Story Rating G

"Stop the bus!!", Tonya screamed in a frustrated, frightened squeal. However, her cries couldn't be heard over the frantic of all the other students on the bus. Everyone was screaming, some girls were crying in the front of the bus as they clutched onto each other, fearing it would be their last time.

"Mr. Clemmons, slow down!!! We're going to crash if you don't!!!", screamed Layla, a normally shy 15 year old who was sitting behind the driver. Suddenly, the bus driver slowed down. The students all sat in awe, staring at each other in a confused shock and constantly turning around to face one another and address what had just happened. But no one spoke a word. After all, what could they say? At least the bus has slowed down and maybe they panicked over nothing. Maybe he didn't realize his speed or something!

Finally, David broke the silence and asked the driver why he had been going so fast and why they had taken the detour on the interstate instead of the regular school bus route. The driver spoke not a word but continued onward down the interstate, getting off on an exit 30 miles away from the school.

During the ride, several of the passengers had threatened to jump out of the back of the bus but the driver continued on his path, motionless. He refused to answer any of their questions and was quite satisfied with himself and was assured that noone would dare jump out the back. Tonya and Libby talked most of the way, trying to figure out what was going on with the bus driver and why he wouldn't talk to them as he usually had. He was normally so calm, so friendly and outgoing. None of this behavior was normal.

"What's gotten into him and what's with the silent treatment?", Libby asked Tonya in a scared, meek voice. "I don't know but I sure hope he comes out of it soon." By the time they were getting off the exit, it had gotten to the back of the bus that Mr. Clemmons had their usual bus route taped to the front of the bus's dashboard.

"I wonder why?", Libby asked Tonya as if she expected an educated and simple answer. "I don't know but something's up", replied Derrick. "Nothing about this seems right and something's funny going on." "Do you think it has anything to do with us being his last stop?", Tonya asked Derrick. "Hmm, I hadn't thought of that, but you could be on to something. He did wait until he picked up all the kids to change the route.", Derrick answered.

"Yeah, and why does he have the route taped to the dashboard?", Libby began. "Hasn't he been the bus driver for forever now? And it's the middle of the school year, so he must know the route by heart. He's never even had it taped up there before! Not even on the first day!!", Libby concluded.

"She's right, Derrick", Tonya began. "Something's definitely not right and he's not even talking to us. Mr. Clemmons is the coolest bus driver ever! Though today, I think I have a difference of opinion!"

The driver took a right hand turn off the exit and followed the road out until it reached a fork. He turned left, going across a dirt trail and nowhere near the school.  Everyone was in such a state of shock that noone bothered to move. "Where are we going, Mr. Clemmons?", asked Layla, trying not to sound panicked.

Still, no answer could be heard from the driver. They came to a stop at the end of the trail where there could be numerous worn down houses seen. At the halt, many of the students jumped out of their seats and tried to run down the aisle to the back of the bus to escape through the emergency exit but they couldn't pry the door open. "It's jammed!!", screamed Derrick.

"It was all part of his plan", Tonya exclaimed when she figured it out and put all the pieces together. If they weren't afraid before, they were all terrified now. They turned to see Mr. Clemmons in the front of the bus, standing perfectly still, blocking the entrance way and their only escape to freedom. They started towards the front, slowly not knowing what to expect.

"Don't even think about it!", raged Mr. Clemmons, pulling a gun from the front of his pants. "Noone's going anywhere."
