he said. Then he pulled out a gun, cocked it, and Adi never saw the rest. She had shut her eyes, turned the other way, and ran. She ran until she got home and then she burst through the door and called the police.
Her mother’s questions were answered when she heard Adi sobbing into the phone about Adam. She had started crying then too, getting frantic. The police said they would go and try and find him, and that Adi had done the right thing. So Adi and her mother were left to wait. They waited for hours and hours, getting all the more nervous as each second passed. The cops had gotten to Adi’s house at the same time that Adi’s father got home from work. He was filled in and his face went grim. He shook his head. The police said that when they arrived at the alley there was no trace of Adam or any of the men Adi mentioned. They searched the surrounding areas and never found him.
Adi decided to go back downstairs. In her bedroom she turned on the computer and it said she had a new email. She did not recognize the sender’s email address but the subject was labeled important so she opened it. Inside, Adi could not believe what she read. “I KILLED YOUR BROTHER.”
Adi choked and shut the computer down. This had to all be some twisted prank. She was probably talking in her sleep at school and someone heard about it and decided to pull this. Adi wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of going crazy over a stupid joke. After two years no one would confess to murder like that, by email. How ridiculous of the prankster. Adi was angry at whoever did this, but shaken by the possibility that it could be true. She waved the idea aside, replacing it with fresh anger. She could stand a joke, but this one cut deep. Deep like the bullet wound Adam suffered…
Adi made herself stop thinking about it. She ate a quick dinner and went upstairs to her room again. Lying on her bed she shut her eyes tightly and drifted off to sleep. In her dreams she heard Adam saying, “You didn’t find me, Adi.”

It seems pretty good so far. Nice paragraphs :) [I tell everyone to please make their stories in managble paragraphs and chunks. You perfect this art.] It's moving along a little fast, but there is good plot development. |
