"Justin, tell me about vampires. How many are there? How do their bodies work? How long do they live? Can they sleep?"

"Enough questions, Rosalie. Hold on a second and I well tell you."

Rosalie and Justin were in the middle of the woods, and they had been running for hours.  All Rosalie knew was that they were somewhere in South Carolina. She sighed as he slowed down and gently set her on the ground.

"Okay. One question at a time." Justin sighed.

     "You know what I asked."

"Okay. About twenty five percent of the world's population is made up of vampires."

"OH MY GOD!! Are you serious?!"

"No.", Justin laughed. "There are really only about one or two hundred vampires left.  The rest are just humans pretending to be vamps."

Rosalie rolled her eyes. When she was a human she had been obsessed with vampires. She had always obsessed over what it would be like to be one. But now she hated the idea.

"As for your other questions, no, we cannot sleep. We live forever. "

     "What about the bodies?"

"We are basically reanimated corpses. We don't have bodily functions, and we can't reproduce sexually."

     "Oh."

"Is 'Oh' all you have to say?" Justin asked incredulously.

"I have another question, If you would like to hear it." Rosalie Whispered.

"Sure, ask away, babe." Justin replied, leaning casually against a tree.

Rosalie's eyes narrowed when she heard him call her 'babe', however she went on as if nothing had happened.  "How do you kill a vampire?"

"There are a lot of ways...", Justin began, "You could burn him in a fire and mix his ashes into mud. You could cut him up into pieces so small he couldn't reform hisself. You could leave him out in the sun for 666 seconds....And you could pierce his heart with a golden dagger."

"Any other ways?" Rosalie asked curiously.

"Well, you could always get a werewolf to bite him, bleed on him, or cut him with it's claws. "

"Werewolves?! They exist?! No way!" Rosalie yelped.

"Yes way." Justin chuckled at her shocked expression. He pulled at a string he had around his neck and showed her that he had a long, ivory fang on it. "A fang from the first werewolf I ever killed. "

"You've killed a werewolf??" Rosalie asked, noticing for the first time how willowy and non-muscular is frame was.

"Yep, His name was Blood. Werewolves, like vampires, go by nicknames. I actually prefer to call them gang names."

"What's your gang name?" Rosalie inquired.

"Wolfesbane. I was a newborn when I killed the werewolf. Pariseus thought I was a magnificent vampire when I accomplished that."

"Sorry for all the questions, but who is Pariseus?"

"Pariseus is the oldest living vampire. She actually created me..." Justin answered.

     "She?"

Justin looked down, blushing as deeply as a vampire can, and said " She created me as a mate. Fifty years ago,  when I told her I didn't love her she got all pissed and tried to have a death sentance put on me. I ran away and I haven't really tried returning until now. I hope fifty years was long enough to give her time to cool down. But it's law that every new vampire has to be put through training and I have a week to get you to the trainers and get you started or you could be exterminated."

"Yikes. Harsh laws in a vampires world. " Rosalie said, suddenly eager to get moving again.

"The laws have to be harsh, otherwise the world would be unsafe for humans and they would find out about our existance."

     "That's true, but still....."

     "But still, what?"

"I'm not so sure I want to meet Pariseus."

"Well, you'd better get ready, because in a few hours you'll be face to face with her...."
