The Chronicles Of Band-Camp: Chapter One

Its embrassing when your mother gets out of the car to kiss you goodbye before leaving to band-camp, but its worse when she leaves a mark.

After waving ma goodbye I turned around and looked at my luggage on the curb of the school parking lot. I wonder where all my percussion pit friends are. All I see here are clarinets and a few color guards. Stupid color guards. They always seem to "throw things" that just happen to hit the snares, which is usaully me, wade, cara, and Shay.

As soon as I gave them the "snares are better" look, I here a car beep. I jump and watch as Nilli and Laim, some of my best friends, [Nilli,she plays bells and Laim well, she plays sousa] get out of their cars and hope that no one sees their moms kissing them.

"Tally, how long have you been here?" Nilli screams at the top of her lungs.

"About 15 minutes!" I yelled, as Laim covered her ears.

"DO WE HAVE TO YELL!" Laim isnt a very loud person.

I laugh and help them get their luggage on the bus. I am still thinking where HE is.

"What do you think Tally?"

I look back at my best friends and relize I was fanisizing about Shay. About how his hair, long, blonde and beautiful, would be amazing to see again.

"ummm...what?"

"TALLY! you have to listen! Now, we need sit in the middle school bus." Said Laim.

"Why?"

"So, we can beat them out of their seats and call seniority." Nilli was all about the control.


As I think of having the little dorks cry, I here a voice behind me.

"Hey, Tala, your looking great this year. Have you been practicing those paradiddles I gave you?"

I look at the hansome boy in front of me. It was Shay. My love, he just doesnt know it.

"Shay!" I said as I gave him a huge hug and felt his hair.
