The Heiress and The Hopper |
The Heiress and The Hopper
Once upon a time, actually it was more like the year 1990 their lived a beautiful woman who gave birth twin girls. This woman didn’t have enough money to support her daughters and herself so she gave them up for adoption. One week later the girls were adopted by two separate families that lived totally different lives. Both families decided not to tell their girls that they were adopted, until their eighteenth birthday. Later did the two families know that the two girls would meet later on in the future?
Hannah Parker grew up with her mother and father in Brooklyn, New York. She never really experienced a childhood that involved a lot of money so her birthdays weren’t really that extravagant. It was the day of her seventeenth birthday and instead of being at home Hannah was sitting on a bench in Central Park looking at the job section on the back of the New York Times. She was trying to find a job to earn some extra cash because her dad had died six months before and it was hard for her mom to support the both of them. She wanted a job in the city nowhere near her own neighborhood. She flipped the page and saw that there was a job opening as a new bellhop at the Avalon Hotel. She thought there was no harm in going for an interview. She didn’t expect the manager to say that she started on Monday.
Hailey Avalon was the daughter of wealthy tycoon, hotel owner Frank Avalon and the heir to the Avalon fortune. Her fortune included the Avalon hotel chain, including the one in New York City where she lived. Hailey grew up living a wealthy life. Her schedule included home schooling, because her parents didn’t want to send her to regular public high school. After her lessons were over she would go out and shopping or roam around the hotel. It was the day of Hailey’s seventeenth birthday and her parents were out of town on a business conference. Actually she was very happy because it gave her a day for herself, with no one to tell her where to go or what to do. All she wanted was to be normal and go out with friends, if she had any. Instead she spent the day watching her favorite movies and eating pop corn on bed.
The Monday after the two girl’s birthdays, Hannah started her new job at the hotel and Hailey was doing her morning jog around the hotels halls. As Hannah was bringing a woman’s luggage up to her room, Hailey ran into her making Hannah drop all of the woman’s belongings on the floor. Hailey helped to pick up what was dropped but when she looked up both girls looked eye to eye and noticed that they looked exactly like each other. At the sight, both girls screamed for a long time then Hailey put her hand on Hannah’s mouth and dragged her into the bathroom. “I don’t know why you look like me, but this is really cool. Are you going to talk or are you just going to look at me weird?” Hailey asked Hannah? Hannah explained that it was a shock for her. Not knowing that they were adopted they shared stories about their childhood and how each of them wished they were just like the other. Then Hailey had the idea that they would both switch places for a week and then switched back before Hailey went to Rome for summer vacation. At first Hannah didn’t like the idea but then again she always wanted to know how the other side lived.
The first two days were difficult, both girls trying to get used to each others lives. By the third day Hannah had bought clothes in stores she never knew existed and Hailey had eaten food that she wasn’t ever allowed to eat. Both girls were living their dreams but when Mr. Avalon was having a great amount of success with his business things changed. Instead of just wanting to go to Rome for the summer, he wanted take the first flight over there and move to build a new hotel. Of course Hannah didn’t want to go and be away from her mom so she and Hailey made plans to have there parents meet, and settle the reason why they looked exactly alike. The next day Mrs. Parker met Mr. and Mrs. Avalon and they explained to the girls that they were adopted at one week old and that they were planning to tell them when they turned eighteen. Knowing this information the real Hailey didn’t want to move to Rome, but Mr. Avalon said that there was no choice. The two girls were bummed out knowing that they just found each other and were about to lose each other in the same week. But then Mr. Avalon said something that changed the girl’s feelings. He invited Hannah and her mom to move with them. The girls were so happy. The next week the whole entire family took a first class trip to Rome. As they all took off they all said “Good by U.S.A. , hello Rome”!
