It was bitterly cold. Not many people would have been outside on a day like this. But, Rae was different. It was three weeks from her twenty-second birthday and she was growing more and more depressed as the milestone came closer. When she was younger, Rae used to dream about being “grown up”, (she wouldn’t quite call herself that, yet). Of course, in her childhood day dreams, she was married to a successful doctor and she lived in her three story house with her four children, two of which were twin boys. However, as time pressed on she learned that her chances of having her “happily ever after” would soon be close to zero. She rented out a one bedroom house and the closest thing to her prince charming was her orange tabby, Joey.
