Instantly Over Time

As she lies asleep, the moon light shining down upon her face through the curtains, he watches her. With each breath she takes he breathes her in ever so deeply. Gently, he runs his fingers through her soft, dark hair. He thinks to himself, “how could I be so fortunate?”. He has tried to fall asleep tonight, but his emotions won’t let him. She is weighing heavily on his mind. He doubts she is aware of his love for her. She may know that he loves her, but is most likely oblivious to the fact that he is in love with her. All of the little things she does, they stay with him. The way she looks deep into his eyes, as if she can see into his soul. Her eyes are the most beautiful brown he’s ever seen; they sparkle and beam at him. Then there’s her gentle touch that lingers on his skin and soothes his heart. How she is the only woman who has ever made him want to go out of his way to show how much he cares. A smile comes to his face as he recalls the time he sang to her in front of everyone at the lake last summer. He was so embarrassed afterward, until she kissed him with the most passionate kiss he‘s ever had. His smile broadens when he thinks about how cute she looks when her cheeks turn red from something silly and embarrassing that happened. Her pretty smile flashes into his mind. She has this certain smile that she only gives to him. He remembers the time they were at a friends dinner party. He stood there talking to a few of his friends and saw her standing across the room talking to some of hers. He watched her laugh and smile. When she turned her head and caught his gaze, she smiled at him. She smiled her special smile, the one that is for him only. The warmth of that smile filled him and he smiled back. He reflects on the dances that they share. How he would come up to her, out of nowhere, and dance with her - cheek to cheek to nothing more than the sound of his humming. He knew how much she loved that. He continue to lay there and remember all of the things that she does that intoxicate him. The little things. Her innocence. Her beauty. Her mind. Instantly he is aware of how deep his love for her truly is…..
