When I opened my eyes everything was bright again. I hated being in a hospital. Its always bad news for me. I tried so sit up. Stupid me. It hurt like hell and I yelped from the pain.

“Jess just lay back down your okay now.” Ben’s soothing voice said. And then I remembered everything. I didn’t really know what to say to Ben after he had just saved me.

“Thank you Ben!” is all I could think so say.

“No problem Jess.”

“What happened? The last thing I remember is screaming for you to help me and getting cut. Everything went black after that.”

“I beat him up till he was knocked out then called the cops.”

“Thanks.” By now he was standing by my bed. I could see him smiling down at me. “Does Jen know yet?”

“Yeah. I called her last night after we got you here. She is down getting something to eat.”

“Oh…ok…”

There was silence for a while.

“What happened to the guy who…raped me?”

“He is in jail now….Jess you’re safe now. I promise.”

“How bad is the cut?”

“Not too bad. You’re all stitched up. It will be a while before they can come out though.”

“Oh no!” I cried! “when can I get out of here?”

“What is the rush? Chill your ok Jess.”

“No the funerals are today! I need to get out of here!”
