GRACES POV
My alarm clock went off at 6 the next morning. I quickly jumped out of bed so I could straighten my hair. After that was done, I went to go find my outfit for the day. I chose light washed jeans, a dark blue shirt, and a cropped white jacked to go over it. I choose my favorite Rocket Dog shoes to wear with my outfit. I then went into my bathroom to put on all my makeup. First I put on concealer, then blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and finally, mascara. I was ready for school.
I walked down the stairs to find my mother in the kitchen making pancakes.
“Hey honey,” she said cheerily.
“Hey mom. What time did you and dad get home last night?”
“Around midnight, you know how we have to work late shifts.”
“Ya. Well I think I’m going to skip breakfast today.”
“But a growing girl like you needs to have a balanced diet.”
“Ya, I know, I just have to get to school early today to finish something.”
She gave me one of those “mom” looks, and then nodded. I grabbed my backpack and purse, and headed out the door. The bus wouldn’t come until later, so I decided to walk. It wasn’t that far.
By the time I got to the school, it was already 7:30. I went to go put my stuff in my locker.
I had finished putting every thing away, and had started getting my books out, when I noticed someone else standing near me.
It was Amy.
“What the hell do you want?” I asked her.
“Listen, Grace, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. We have been best friends since second grade. I know I messed everything up, but is there any way you can forgive me?”
“Amy, you should have thought about that before you betrayed me. Now I have to go meet Gabe in the office.”
“Fine then. You’ll be sorry for this!”
Ya, like I was going to worry about some stupid little threat Amy gave me.
But oh well.
I went down to the office and waited for my new “friend” to arrive.
