GABES POV
My dad slapped me across the face.
He is a horrible father.
My hate for him is indescribable.
I decided not to fight back this time. Last time I did, my arm got broken.
His fist collided with my stomach. Still, I made not a single sound. His fist kept on punching me in the gut, over and over again. My eyes watered, but I still kept my mouth shut. All of a sudden, he stopped punching me. I fell to the ground. Then out of nowhere, I felt his hand around my neck. The air in my lungs shriveled to nothing in a matter of seconds. I felt myself become light headed.
“If you are not home right after school tomorrow, I will strangle your sorry neck. Understand?”
I knew he was only saying this because the alcohol had control of him, but I still nodded my head. He had made tons of empty threats like this before, and I learned along time ago to stop believing what he said. “I want you to make dinner and then go to bed.”
I nodded and then made my way to the kitchen. Tonight we were going to have pasta. But this pasta would be different. I reached into the cupboard that we kept some of the medicine in. I reached in and pulled out what I was looking for. Tylenol PM. HE would be out like a light with this in his food.
