Chapter 11
We fell asleep and the next morning my mother was out shopping. So I woke Fay up and we went decided to go out to get some donuts. Fay wanted to call David so I suggested she invite him. She squealed happily jumping up to get her phone. Then she stopped suddenly and insisted that I bring Jake. I agreed but then realized for the first time that I don't have any contact info for him. Fay was upset but went to call David and he agreed to come.
David arrived and ran up to Fay hugging her and kissing her neck lightly while she giggled and pushed him away. We went to the donut/coffee shop and picked out what we wanted. Fay got a sprinkles one, I got a cinnamon twist and David chose a chocolate. We sat outside in the cold, which I wasn't too happy about since I wasn't very bundled up. At the table there was an umbrella in the middle but it was closed since there clouds were over head and the sun never warmed us very much anyways. We lived in a state where it was always cold welcome to Alaska. Winter 24/7 all year round. But its not that bad, I kind of like the snow.
I finished my donut and sat there shivering. I smiled amused watching Fay and David flirt. I'm really happy for them and hope they stay together for a long time. I was surprised how much business the shop got but it was in a great location to everything and was the most popular one around.
Soon enough some one came behind me and dropped a coat around my shoulders. I twisted in my seat to see who it was but there was a small crowd around and they all headed into the shop. I looked confused over at Fay who laughed and told David to hush and not tell me. I knew it had to be someone I knew so I waited watching the door for someone familiar to come out.
Several minutes passed by and I didn't know anyone who came out. So I looked over to Fay again who shook her head. “Come on!” I gave her my puppy dog look and she shook her head again laughing hard now.
“David?”
“Sorry Sa, I mean Jina. No can do.” I sighed frustrated and then someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to see him standing there. “Alex! What are you doing here.”
“Same thing as you” he laughed.
“Thanks.” I said looking at the jacket. “Aren't you cold?”
“Nope” he smiled wide. Alex was from our school and had a crush on me, a big one.
“Well sit and join us.” I said pointing to the open seat. Fay was laughing and I gave her a look. She shut up and went back to focusing on David. Alex had a cream filled donut and it squirted out the back when he bit into it, dropping half the cream on the ground.
“SHOOT!” he complained. “I hate when that happens.” I laughed lightly and he blushed.
We ate and sat outside for about an hour. Alex was happy with staying with me the whole time and we carried on a conversation. He was nice but I saw him as a friend nothing more than that. He wasn't built but he was tall. Kind of reminds me of a stick when I look at him. He had brown eyes and blond hair that was cut short. He put his arm on the back of my chair, and I made no move to push him down but I didn't want to lead him on so when he tried to pull me in closer I put up a little resistance and he backed off. More than a little disappointed I tried to cheer him up offering to hang out, as friends. He agreed and Fay, David, Alex and I all went back to my place. We chose a movie to watch and sat on the couch in this order. Fay with David her left hand man, Me and then sandwiched in with Alex on my right.
Luckily he didn't sit to closely to me, I think he got the friends message. His arm stayed draped over the back of the couch the whole time. Alex and I both enjoyed the movie while Fay did too but David just watched Fay. I observed this and whispered over to Fay who turned a light pink color and leaned into him.
After the movie was done my mom finally got back and Alex and David left. Fay stayed over and we helped unload the groceries. Then we went to take a walk and as we did we heard about a neighborhood party and all were welcome. Fay and I were invited and decided we would go. She called David and told him to meet her there. Then we went to my room and picked out what I would wear. After we did the same at her place. I left and she stayed home but we would soon see each other down at the party tonight.
Some one rang my door bell and I ran down to go answer it. When I opened the door a light gust of chilly wind hit me and I shivered but that was all there was. Wind and snow but no one there. The light wind blew again and I felt something hitting my leg, so I looked down and picked it up.

Over all, I like it, but... I hate to say it, but it needs a lot more filler. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory doesn't even go thru chapters this fast. |
