Flirey and Erith

Creative Created on 11-12-07 Views(69) Story Rating G

**I started this story in honor of a friend a long time ago, so I'm posting it here. I think no matter how bad it is I'm going to finish it for my friend, and at least someone will see it posted here. LOL**

Chapter 1

Flirey

The foggy clouds loomed overhead beginning to give out, letting the delicate droplets of rain fall upon the young girl with an already dampened face.

She watched as the leaves began to swirl and snap around her, and precariously drift to the earth. Simultaneously as they touch the ground, their life ends… and their journey begins.

Little do you know that the tiny thuds and crinkling you hear on the windows and on the ground become an earthquake and a wave for those deeper down.

Rising from the grassy meadow to return to her failures, where hugs and kisses are replaced by lectures and penalties.

She begins to race down the paved path of buried brick with wishful thinking of beating the storm.

Erith

Meanwhile, a boy farther away also starts his day in a field. The morning mist still hung heavy in the sky, threatening the vision of later travelers.

The boy thought nothing of this, but a mere observation, for he had no plans of travel today. Most the trees were almost naked, for fall had begun to set in. It sounded like bells as the leaves rolled down the street.

Unfortunately, this lazy atmosphere was broken by his recently acquired cell phone and his loving parents wishing him to return home.

Erith and Flirey

There are no time laps here; the paved brick path was beside the sidewalk of Erith’s house. Flirey walked the path in slow shame for she did not wish to face what was ahead of her. At the same moment Erith walked up the sidewalk, directly past Flirey sulking in misery, without even noticing her.

Flirey makes it home and is lectured on being late for the ceremony to show off her beautiful wavy, electrifying wings as if designed by the waves of water and flames of fire and to fly in the contest. The contest was one that all of the new fairies who just developed their wings had to compete in, as a form of intuition and graduation. All of her family flew in this contest and won, right when they received their wings. They said nothing of her being such a late bloomer, but they did mention the shame it would bring if she lost. Little did they know she couldn’t even get off the ground!

Erith makes it home to the love of his parents. Walks over to his bathroom and begins to brush his deep red hair. As he retrieves the phone he got from earning their trust in his responsibility, he begins to admire it. Noticing the decorative inscriptions on the edging, those of a breath of peace, flying over mountains, “how odd” Erith exclaimed!
