Project Grad. One of the most fun nights I have had my entire high school career. Rock wall climbing, karaoke, blown up obstacle course- can’t get much better! From 10 till 6 in the morning, party nonstop. It was so much fun. I raced Carson up and down the rock wall at least six times. When we got done, we walked arm in arm to the movie room, where we watched the classic movie that will never die, The Goonies. It was so much fun to lean over to each other and whisper lines in the movie. When Sam Austen goes into see what his brother’s girlfriend wants, and he ends up getting kissed, Cars leaned over and gently swept his lips over mine. I smiled, and pulled away. It was dark, and I knew if I didn’t stop, we would keep going. Later on in the movie, I leaned over and said the line “I didn’t realize you had braces.” He laughed and just pulled me closer, but not to close. I snuggled against his warm body, and completely forgot the promise I had made earlier that day- I fell asleep to the sounds of screaming girls.
He woke me up about four in the morning. I not only slept through the Goonies, but the first Spiderman as well. Oops. We wandered out of the library, looking for something to do. I was fully awake now, so we decided to try our hand at the mechanical surfboard. He got on first… and promptly fell off. I laughed and smiled as he made his way stiffly back through the crowd to me. “Your turn.” He whispered devilishly. I smiled, hopped on, and proceeded to show them all how it was done. I hopped off, looked Carson in the eye, and said “Seconds, anyone?” he growled, and swooped me over his shoulder, lugging me out of that room. I tried to be serious, but I couldn’t. My cries of help were mixed with random twitches as he tickled me on my bare feet and ankles. He finally set me down in a space that was mostly private and out of the way. He looked at me for a long time, just staring in my eyes.
“What?”
“Nothing. I was … I want to give you something. I was gonna wait till later, but I think now is the right time.” He smiled, almost shyly, like a little boy about to give his mom her first mother’s day gift. My breath caught in my throat. Could it be? I smiled sweetly at him, hoping beyond all hope. He reached into his back pocket, and pulled out a cylinder, roughly a foot long, and six inches in diameter. I looked at him with a half smile on my face, asking with my eyes, what is it? He answered with a nod of his head. Eagerly, I unwrapped the green bow holding it together and pulled out the most beautiful bouquet of daisies I have ever seen. Attached to them was…
