Friends Till The End Chapter 5
|
Over the next couple of weeks I learned all there was needed to know and endured endless hours of training. I still was worried about Hannah, but I tried to force the thought to the back of my mind. Zane and I are seeming to become more than just friends, but it still bothers me how I am the only girl in the pack. Everytime I try to bring up the subject Zane just makes up and excuse and rushes off somewhere.
I was sprawled out on Zanes bed when he walked in. He looked at me and I could tell he was reluctant to say what was on his mind. "Whats up?" I asked while sitting myself up.
He sighed aggrivatedly. "You can go out by yourself now."
"What?" I asked suddenly confused. I was never allowed to be alone when I was in my wolf form.
"The elders have decided you should go out by yourself as a learning experience to you." the angry in his voice was obvious.
I tried to surpress a smile. "Thank you."
Zane walked over to the bed and kissed me lightly on the lips. "But that does not mean you can run off to see your family." Confusing spread across my face. His voice got softer, "When we are all wolves, even though you try to hide your thoughts they still seep through into our visions. It is not bad you want to see them and hear there voices so much, but you going to your house may put you and them in grave danger, Rain."
That upset me but I just nodded in agreement. "When can I leave?"
A flicker of emotions went across Zanes face before he answered. "Now."
"Great." I pecked Zane on the cheek, and grabbed a small bag of clothing. I quickly ran out the door and tied the bad around my waist.
Images of running through the forest and my fellow companions raced through my head, and before I knew it I started to shake and feel the sensation of my body come apart, just to reform again. I was halfway down the stairs when I heard with my sharpened senses the sound of something being smashed back in Zanes room. He was upset, but he would get over it. I was free, well as free as I could be at this moment in time. Robert was holding the front door open, talking to one of the other warewolves in the house so I gave them a little howl and started to run towards the forest.
I had gone at least ten miles when I smelt an unfamiliar scent. I stopped and listened for any sound of movement. To my left there was a crack of a twig. I turned and quickly pounced on whatever was making the noise.
Whoever I had underneath me was not happy. They started to struggle, and before I knew it they were on top of me. "Rain." the figure whispered in a familiar voice. One I could never forget. I looked up into the face of my best friend Hannah. How could she tell it was me? I was still in my wolf form.
I let out a small whine to comfirm that it was me. She got up and turned around. I thought of myself as human again and was back to my regular self. I quickly put on the clothing in the bag that was around my waist and tapped Hannah on the shoulder. She turned around and looked at me. "Hannah.. Oh god its really you." I said staring at her in awe.
It looked as if she was going to hug me, but she stopped midhug and her lip curled up revealing two sparkiling white fangs. "Rain, you sorta smell bad."
I was staring at her fangs. "I could say the same for you." I smiled finally being able to look into her dark brown eyes. "Hannah look what they done to you."
"Its not all that bad, after the transformation and me being able to contorl myself being a Vampire is actually fun." Then she looked me up and down. "Its funny how some things turn out. I was, well I mean I still am, friend with the Queen of Warewolves."
I looked at her dumbfounded. "Queen?"
She laughed. "You should close you mouth." I stuck my tounge out at her. "Those dogs didn't tell you?"
"No, but I should of guess it. I am the only girl." I smiled at her. "So which one of your bloodsucking buddies turned you?"
She blushed. "His names Brandon. He is sort of the king, and you know.." she trailed off.
"Your the Queen of the Vampires!" I practically shouted. "Sorry."
"No, its ok that the same thing I did when I found out you were the Queen of Warewolves."
I frowned, and then whispered. "We are mortal enemies, Hannah."
She sighed. "I know. And with the prophcies everything gets even harder."
"What?" I asked confused again.
"Oh, Rain. They really are keeping you in the dark."
"I know. It gets really frustrating at times." I watched as Hannahs eyes suddenly got darker. Rain! Why aren't you in your wolf form? I know I can't find you, but Vampires are in the area come back. Zanes thoughts came into my head.
"My clan is looking for me." Hannahs eyes went back to their normal color than.
"Zane's worried about me to."
"How are we going to meet again?" Hannah frowned.
"Two days. I probly won't be allowed out, but I will sneak out. We'll meet here at one in the morning. Is that ok?"
"I'll probly have to sneak out to, but its a deal." Hannah smiled. "It was a pleasure to see you again."
"I really have missed you." I waved as Hannah turned around. "Wait!" I yelled. "What about the prophcies?" but it was to late, Hannah was already gone.
I didn't change back into my wolf form, because I knew Zane and the others would see all that I saw. So I started my slow walk back to the house. I had left at five, and it was at least midnight when I returned. No one was around, and I slowly snuck up to Zane's room. I got in the room and fell onto the bed exhausted, and slowly dirfted to unconciousness.
