Friends Till The End Chapter 4
|
I woke up and felt Zanes arms around me. I felt discusted with myself. How could I fall asleep with a guy I've only known for a day or two. "You're going to have to met the rest of the pack today." Zane said softly and let go of me.
I hadn't even realized he was awake. "I need to find Hannah." I whispered back.
Zane's voice turned emotionless. "You can't. She is your enemy now."
"That can't be true." I said angry flaring in my voice. "She would never turn on me, like I will never turn on her."
"Rain, its impossible to tell. You can't take any chances, she may or may not kill you." The thought of Hannah killing me never entered my head untill now. "Its also possible that you may kill her."
I stared at him in disbelief. "I would never."
"You don't know that for sure. You've changed in ways you don't even know about, yet."
Then I remebered something he told me last night. "You said I was different for the others."
"Yes, you are different, but we don't know for sure how different you are from us."
I sighed in frustration. I will find you someday Hannah, as soon as I can leave here, or I'm alone. I thought to myself. I got off the bed and looked around the room again. "Who's room?"
"Mine. Everywhere else was taken and I offered to let you stay in my room. I will sleep on the couch tonight." Zane got off the bed as well and walked over to where I was standing. I just stared at him. "The bathroom is across the hall, you should get a shower and then I'll introduce you to the others."
"Ok, I guess." I grabbed the overstuffed bag of my stuff Zane had brought with him and followed Zane out into the hallway. "Thank you." I said right before closing the bathroom door.
After undressing I turned the water up as high as my body could take. Maybe I was just having one huge nightmare. I wish. I scrubbed my body furiously hoping to some how get rid of all escence of the warewolf I"ve become. After at least another ten minutes I turned off the water and changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I put on my shoes and shoved all of my stuff back into the bag.
I opened the bathroom door and walked out into the dimly lighted hallway. I walked into Zanes room and set my bag on to the bed. "My cellphone!" I shrieked a little to loud. I ripped open the bag and went through it. I recognized the pair of jeans that was laying on my bedroom floor, that had my cell phone in it. I shut my eyes and stuck my hand into the back pocket. I felt it. The cold hard plastic of my phone. I grabbed it and turned it on. In a matter of seconds it showed twenty missed calls from my mom. I ignored them and dialed Hannahs number. It didn't connect, there was no service. I silently swore and turned off my phone. I put it in my pocket just as Zane opened the door.
"I was afraid you might of run off again." As releif washed over his face.
I scowled at him. "You would of known. Its not as if there aren't other people looking out for me." A glint of confusing showed in his eyes. "I could hear there thoughts when I turned wolf."
"Oh." Was all he said. Some pain shot through my head right then. I flinched slightly as I tried to ignore it. "Whats wrong?"
"Nothing I"m fine. Let's go met everyone else now." I tried to changed the subject.
We left Zanes room and he explained the parts of the house while taking me to the dining hall. There was a low buzz of talking, that stopped abrutly when we entered the room. All eyes were upon me. I felt my face flush slightly and looked down at the ground. "There is only twenty of us." He whispered into my ear. Everyone suddenly started to cheer.
I looked at Zane questionly. "You are what they have been waiting for."
I looked around. There was seventeen adults who looked to be the same age as Robert, and three boys the same age as Zane. We walked over to the boys who where in the corner. "Hi I'm Theo." said the blonde haired boy that was at least a foot taller than me.
"Its nice to finally meet my other kidnapper." I said with a smile. It was easy to tell he hadn't expected me to say something like that.
"Oh..er..ya sorry about that." His face was pleading.
I laughed slightly. "I was only kidding."
"This is Danny." Zane said and pointed to the boy who was shortest out of them all. I smiled at him and he smiled back. "And this is Carter." He pointed to the guy with jet black hair and dark eyes. Carter didn't even look at me.
I looked around at everyone in the dining hall. "Zane?"
"Yes."
"How come I'm the only girl here?" I noticed how Carter scowled when I said that.
"I'll explain later." Zane said noticeing Carters obvious dislike for me.
"So when do we start?" Danny asked Zane cheerfully.
"Tonight." Zane replied.
"Start what?" I asked.
"Your training."
