     “Melissa, I don’t know what to do,” I say to my best friend, not to mention my girlfriend, as we sit on my bed. Her golden locks fall perfectly around her angled face; she looks stunning. The way she does her eyeliner really brings out her bright green eyes. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

     “What is it Jo?” she asks while looking concerned. I smile; she used her pet name for me. My real name is Josephine.

     “Well you know that I love you right?” I ask. She nods. I continue, “And you know that I’m bisexual right?” she nods again. She knows this, she’s just waiting for me to get on with it, “Well I met a really hot guy at the mall the other day, and, well, he said that he really liked me and he asked me out. I said that I’d have to talk to you first and he said that would be ok so he gave me his number. I don’t think that he got that I’m bisexual but…” I trailed off, “Well what do you think?”

     Melissa stayed calm and collected. I know that she is bisexual too and we promised to talk to each other about this but I'm worried. I really love Melissa and I don’t want to cheat on her, or lose her. I feel really bad bringing this up.

     “Jo…Josie…Josephine!” Melissa was waving her hand in front of my face. I hadn’t noticed her talking to me I was so lost in thought. I looked into her eyes, those beautiful green eyes. I love her so much, “You can go out with him. I only want you to be happy. It’s ok really. A guy asked me out too. Hey! Why don’t you call him up now? We could double date! Me with my guy and you with yours! Well it’d be more like a triple date cuz we’d be on a date with each other too but they won't have to know that. How about it Jo?”

     Melissa was so excited, “Are you sure?” I ask.

     “Definitely! This will be fun I promise. Dinner and a movie, just us four. Come on Jo, please?” I pick up the cord phone sitting on my window sill. I dial his number as Melissa grins. She is so excited.

     The phone rang twice and a lady answered, “Hello? Jones residence.”

     “Hi. Is John there? I say. My nerves are starting to surface.

     “One moment please. John!” I wait. I look at Melissa and mouth ‘Fricker’s?’ She nods. It was her favorite restaurant.

     “Hello?” I hear over the phone.

     “Hi John. This is Josephine, from the mall Saturday?” I wonder if he’d even remember me. I put the phone on speaker.

     “Hey yeah. What’s up?” Yay! He remembered me. That’s a start. Melissa had to stifle a giggle.

     “Well I was wondering if you’d like to go on a double date with me tonight. Dinner and a movie?” I ask. My heart is pounding in my throat. I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. Time stands still as I wait for a response. What if he says no? What if he laughs at me? What if he calls me a slut for calling him up? What if, what if what if. So much is running through my mind.

     It could have been a second or a thousand years later before he finally responded, “Yeah, sounds good. Seven ok?”

     He said yes! He actually said yes! Finally when I ask out a guy a get a positive response. I am so excited, “Yeah seven’s great. We’ll pick you up then”

     After exchanging addresses we got off the phone. Melissa called her possible date and he agreed to go as well. With only three hours to spare, Melissa and I got ready to leave. She borrowed some of my clothes and my makeup. We had fun getting ready.

     She had just put cherry lip-gloss on, “I want some!” I say pouting. I kissed it off her lips. She had to put more on and so did I but it was a great way to put on lip-gloss.

     At 6:45 we left my house in my Mustang. First we picked up Andy, Melissa’s date. I have to admit he is pretty hot. Once he was in the car Melissa sat backseat with him. We all talked and laughed about random things.

     When John hopped in shotgun, he fell perfectly in with the conversation.
