The neon lights flared and dimmed with the pulse of the music, dynamo bolas where spinning fast enough to seem a solid shield of light, and the darkness reigned. The lights where everywhere and the eternal night covered it all like a blanket, hiding the true nature of the colourful displays. Suddenly, the music stopped. The world seemed to hold its breath in the timeless dark. And as if a new sun had risen on the world, the lights came on.
"You know az, i don't think i have ever seen you smile." Fenlulu in his usual suicidal mood decided azure needed an attitude adjustment.
"You do realise, that i am holding a very large point piece of metal, don't you?"
"Yeah but i was trying not to mention how fat you are getting"
Sidestepping smartly, fenlulu managed to dodge the thrown sword.
"Hmm have you heard about this new place opening up down the road? it seems like the perfect cover for a vamps operation."
"Yeah i saw it."
"So we gonna check it then? maybe craack a few heads?"
"No"
"But whyyyyyyy?"
Az already in a bad mood from being made fun off was not in the mood for fenlulu's complaining. Stepping quickly across the room Az grabbed fenlulu by the throat. Teeth bared az snarled "if you value your life..."
The door bell rang.
"w00t saved by the bell!" fenlulu slipped out of az's grip. Smoothing his hair back fenlulu pasted his best (cheesiest) smile onto his face and counted to 3 before opening the door.
"Hello my dear and how may i be of service to such a beautiful individual?" fenlulu said in a way that would make even the slimiest of slugs shiver.
"E..err, i was told this apartment was up for rent, but the key wouldn't work. So i rang the bell..."
"Go away the rooms taken!" Az shouted from where he was still standing.
"B...but the man downstairs said..." The young girl said close to tears. At this point the a breif gust of wind blew in threw the open door.
"You come here now!" Az said with his usual tactfulness.
"W...why? what did i do?"Az for the first time since the door opened looked at the girl. Her mousey brown hair had a shock of white in and her clothes hung loosely about her. she looked like she could do with a couple of solid meals inside of her, but otherwise she was unremarkable.
"When did you turn!?!" Az was shouting now
"YO, chill brother, she ain't a vamp!"fenlulu put in, showing his obvious lack of understanding to what was going on. Az at this point had crossed the room. Grabbing the girl and shoving her roughly on to one of the flea bitten sofa's in the middle of the room. He grabbed her bag and slammed the door shut.
"When did you turn? Don't act innocent i know what you are!" Az was in a frenzy
"DUDE calm down already, your not going to get any answers if you scare her to death!" Az finaly getting control on himself put her bag on the low coffee table in the middle of the room. "Would you mind telling both of us what this is all about az?"
"She's a werewolf!"
"H...how did you know?"the girl was curled up in a ball in the far corner of the sofa, trying to be as small as possible."You don't mask your sent, hell i'm surprised even this pathetic excuse for a vamp couldn't tell when you walked in." Az said with a sigh.
"You mean she's one of you?" fenlulu exclaimed, his face the picture of shock.
"Stop cowering, you look like a beaten pup."Az sounding more old than tired now.
"But your vamps!"Az lept at the girl. but was intercepted by fenlulu.
"AZ! let her be, you did give her that impretion. its your own fault."
"my dear, Az here is the last of the greatest of packs, he is azure of dark nights!"
"B...but he can't be"The girl stammered.
"Say's who!?!" Az snapped
"No what i mean is you can't be the last i am!!"
