Clueless (Chapter 3)W

"Caro- I mean Rose, I have to tell you something..." I decided I might as well try to tell her that Corey was cheating on her...
"Did you just try to call me Caroline?!?" She questioned me. Last month she had decided that she didn't like her first name, so she has been going by her middle name.
"Uhmmm......." I pitifully answered.
"TYLER!!" Oh, I was gonna get it now... I don't understand it! Her first name is so beautiful...
"Hey! It's not my fault you have a problem with your first name!!"
"Well, if you don't start calling me by my middle name, I'm going to call you by your first name!"
That shut me up. I have hated my first name ever since I was 8 and did not enjoy it being brought up.
"I didn't think so.........Ezra." She said with a smug look on her face.
With that I pushed her out off the dock so I was holding her arm, supporting her from falling into the lake we were hanging by.
"What was that you were saying???" I said, knowing she would be in no place to negotiate.
"Nothing.................Ezra...." With that I let her fall into the lake, not worrying about her, her summer job was a lifeguard at the Y. Before I realized it, she had grabbed into my waste and pulled me in with her. When I surfaced on the green-blue water, she had a giant smile on her face, and seemed to be enjoying our little "swim."
Quickly, my mind fluttered back to what I had said before the whole "first name" business.
"Roooose," I put a big amount of enthusiasm into saying her middle name, "there really is something I should tell you..."
"What's that??"
"Uh, weeelll.....Corey..uhm....."
"Just spit it out Tyler!"
"He's cheating on you." I prepared myself for the fireworks...
"I know." She said it in a very calm and matter-of-fact tone.
"WHAAAT??"
"He called me on Sunday and said that if you told me he was cheating, to not believe you. It was kinda stupid if you ask me. Of course I expected he was, so I broke up with him..."
"Well, uhh, I guess you have it all figures out then." I stammered. By this point we were both at the beach, getting out of the water.
"Sure do! Oh! And did you get the math homework from Mr. Armerding today? I had to retake a test and he forgot to give it to me..."
"Ya, um, its page 182, numbers 6 through 18." I was flabbergasted that this girl didn't even care about Corey!! Actually, if I think about it, she has dated a lot of guys...
"Alright, thanks Tyler, see ya tomorrow!!
"See ya!" And with that she ran off towards her house, with me feeling more confused than ver, she always finds a way to surprise me...
