In a land of secrets, life, darkness, light, and curses a young knight is bound by a curse. His punishment for a crime he never comitted, handed to him by his father. He is not allowed to leave the grounds of a runed down church, during the day. At night he becomes bound by the laws of the forest that binds him in time. Traped untill the curse is broken.

The young man had eyes the color of a red rose, and his hair like flames. His body is evenly porportioned, taned by the suns rays. His waste is small and his shoulders wide, but his chest had a single white scare across it. The scare mad from battle, and his heart was taken. Because his heart was taken, he no longer has need for food or sleep.

A small streem runs through the church to quench his thirst, and animal come to him at night to give word of the world around his prision. At night his blazeing eyes turn a dark violet, almost black shade. His flame like hair grow in length and turn as black as the night. His skin turns as pale as the moonlight, and a arura clings to his skin.

His powers give to the earth, and the animals thrive in his gift. This gift drains him of his strength, leaving him to pray for the night to end and the sun to rise. Eventhough he prays for the sun to rise it still torments him, it feels as if his flesh melts off his very bones and his body a flame. He spends most of his time in the shadows or the streem, to stop the burning as much as possible.

Far from his prision, in a castle surrounded by lush green rolling hills, was a maiden. She Hated her father and refused to be ordered around. She refused to marry a suter on her 14th birthday, which enraged he father. She had fair soft white skin, long rich dark hair like a ravens feather, and dark blue eyes. Her spirit wild and untameable, she loved the night and its wonders.

Although treated like royalty, she longed for a different life, whishing she could be different. She had no desire to take her fathers place as queen of the kingdom. She always feelt alone and unloved in the castle grounds. She also felt trapped, like a caged animal trying to get free. She never knew her mother, so she had never had much of a loveing hand. Still she held her head up high, and looked as if she was a warrior.
