"Hey Jordan, do you mind watching Charm?" I asked putting down the groceries and switching the phone to my left shoulder. "No it won't take long but i will pay you." I said getting frustrated as i tried to untie my shoe one-handed. "Ok see you tonight in a couple of minutes." I finished as i hung up the phone and looked at my precious Charm. "Hey honey. Did you get chips and sodas for the game?" Jake said coming into the kitchen and kissing me on the lips. "Yes, but when are you coming home?" I questioned as he looked at me strangely as his brown eyes shined with annoyance.

"Damn! Why do you always question me like this?" He said getting into my face, his breathe smelling strongly of beer as he gripped my arm tightly. "I was just asking!" I said wincing as he threw me on the ground. "I'll get home when i get home! I am grown and i don't need your questions!" He said slapping me hard as blood trickled from my lip. "Ok, i was just asking." I said quickly getting to my feet as he glared at me. "Is it so hard to get a simple answer from you without being struck?" I yelled as he looked shocked. "Listen I'm the man of this house and if it wasn't for me that monster over there wouldn't have been born!" He said smiling like he had just won a trophy.

"Oh really? That's what you think? Well what if i told you she wasn't yours?" I said smartly as he grabbed me by my neck and slammed me on the wall. "You wouldn't dare cheat on me." He growled as the door opened and Jordan walked. " Oh uhh...We were just having a talk." Jake said quickly putting me down and grabbing his car keys. "Bye honey and don't worry about coming home tonight." He said grinning as he walked out the door.

"Oh my gosh! Are you ok? Look you can stay with me for as long as you need." She said quickly helping me to my feet. "Ok thanks Jordan, but i have to go. Do you mind getting Charm's stuff and taking her to your house?" I asked as i rubbed my neck with my hands as i slipped on some flip flops. "Yeah no problem. Also, don't worry about paying me for watching my own goddaughter." She said hugging me as i took the package and gave Charm a quick kiss and headed out the door.
