The Unforgiven Chapter 3

 

Chapter 3:TMI

I had never gone where Ian was taking us. I had heard about the place but never went. For good reason too. It used to be a mental ward a long time ago and now it looked like a murder shack.

"I promise there's no monsters."Ian joked.

He stared at my cheek for a second before getting out of the truck. Before I could get out he already had the door open for me. I bit my gums to hold back the girlish grin. It was hard not to notice how cute he was with his rugged black hair and hazel eyes. Daisy smiled at me while Eddy came around to join us.

"You sure there's no druggies or bums here?"Eddy asked."I don't want my girl or Sunny around that."

"I've never seen any. Plus, who in their right mind would want to go in a place that's supposedly really haunted?"he laughed.

Eddy grunted and Daisy gasped while I giggled.

"Oh come on."he rolled his eyes."Crimson and I will protect you. Won't we?"

"I'll try my best."I shrugged and starting walking toward the building.

"I love this girl!"Ian shouted and caught up to me."This place really isn't bad at all. It's good that people are afraid of it though, that way I can come here all I want with no distractions."

"You come here a lot?"I questioned while walking up to the door. Ian grabbed my hand and smiled.

"It's locked. You've got to come this way."he prodded toward the side of the grey building.

"Guys?"Daisy called.

We both stopped and turned to see what she wanted. Eddy had gone back to the truck and she was standing inbetween him and us.

"Do you mind if we come in a little later?"she asked with a sheepish grin."I can drag him over here if not."

"It's fine."I answered knowing what they were up to."If we see the boogeyman, well then, we're screwed."

Ian led me to the very back side of the building until he stopped. I looked around for some point of entrance that would be easy to get through but couldn't find one. He grinned at my attempt to find an entrance and moved in front of me. I watched as he pushed in the side of the wall.

"How'd you do that?"I asked amazed.

"Trick door."he raised his eyebrows."I wasn't going to show anyone but I know you won't tell."he searched my face for the expression he wanted."So, ladies first?"

"Oh that's real sweet."I said sarcastically."But I understand. I won't tell anyone you're afraid."

"Ha."he laughed, grabbed my hand and led me inside.

It was so dark inside that I had no idea how we would find our way around. I heard a click and then there was light. It was a kerosene lamp that he had somehow made come to life. I laughed a bit because I didn't know people still used those.

"Better than flashlights."he muttered, still holding my hand.

"So what exactly are we supposed to do here?"I asked.

The place smelt of dirt and saw dust and it was pretty cold inside. He didn't answer but led me to a room. I was sure that this building had at least twenty rooms in it based on it's size but I didn't ask.

"Wow."I said as the light revealed the room."Just like a mini house. And you did this all yourself?"

"Yep."he answered."And I figured since no one comes here that it'd be alright if I just made myself right at home. I know it's kinda trashy--"

"It's perfect."I interrupted.

Ian got me a blanket as I made myself comfortable on the worn out couch where he sat beside me. I felt as though he didn't trust me or though I didn't trust him with the three foot distance inbetween us.

"I bet they're having fun."my voice shook a bit."When Eddy gets nervous, he gets horny."

"Poor guy."he shook his head.

"Daisy's more of a romantic though. She's obsessed with how relationships work in the movies."I grunted and rolled my eyes.

"And what about you?"he asked curious.

"Oh."I said caught off guard."I really don't know what I am. I've never...nevermind."

I felt the blood rush to my cheeks and looked at the wall so that he couldn't see. I never had a sex life and had never talked about one for that matter. Hell, that was the last thing on my mind.

"So you say your dad's a cop?"he said changing the subject."What's that like?"

As if some invisible hand moved mine to my cheek, I knew I gave myself away. Trying to cover up my sudden move, I scratched my cut as though it itched.

"He'll probably be police chief here soon."I didn't dare look at him to see what his expression was.

"What about your mother?"he asked more sternly.

"I don't--"I took in a deep sigh,"We should go. I should get back home before my dad wakes up. He'll kill me if he knows I snuck out."

"Hold on a sec."he said when I threw off the cover."Crimson, can I ask you something before you go? I won't be riding back with you guys."

"Alright."I lingered.

"Can I see you again sometime?"his eyes were pleading.

"Maybe. I'll try as best as I can to hang out with you again in the future. Just don't...don't try to get ahold of me okay? I'll get ahold of you from Daisy."

"Okay."he agreed.

"Bye Ian."I smiled and didn't wait for him to help me out. 

He had to know something was up. I didn't want anyone to know anything about my life and I was pretty sure he knew a lot more than any other person who actually knew me...besides Daisy and Eddy.

I ignored the smell of sweat in the truck as Eddy raced back toward my house. I had a bad feeling already and I didn't want my father to be up. Eddy got to the street before mine and I jumped out of the truck as he slowed down. I didn't wait to hear him cuss at me for jumping out but started running home.

"Sorry if there are any mistakes. I'm too upset to go back and look. Comments would be awesome. Enjoy..."
