The Unforgiven Chapter 2

 

 

Chapter 2:Ian

 

I never thought that a father could be so cruel. Just when I thought that things couldn't get any worse, they did. My father and his fellow police officers were under so much stress looking for the guy accused of killing two men in town that they all seemed to be extra bitchy. Knowing my father, he would most definitely find an excuse to be extra mean to me. So, when he would get home I would try my hardest not to talk back to him or even look at him for that matter. But it was only that short while before my guess proved to be correct.

"What the hell is this?"he asked, throwing his fork on his plate.

"It's dinner dad. Spaghetti."I answered.

"It tastes like shit."he said through his teeth.

"I think it tastes just fine. I made sure it did."

"Take it away."he ordered."I guess I'll just fucking starve. There's no way in hell I'm eating that pile of shit."

When I went to get his plate, I glanced at him for a short second. What happened next was unexpected. He grabbed the top of my head and thrust me into his plate. I felt his fork plunge into the side of my face. I wasn't sure if I was bleeding or if it was just spaghetti sauce.

"I bet it tastes good now."he laughed.

Instinctively, I wanted to grab the fork and stab him in the eye with it. Instead, I continued with what I was doing before. I knew what he was doing. He was trying to get a reaction out of me. It must've been a while since he had apprehended a hostile fugitive and so he was taking it out on me.

Thank God that he didn't wait around when I finished cleaning up the kitchen as well as myself. I was shakinng so badly because I figured tonight would be one of the bad nights that I had to face time and time again. The good thing though, was that I had put some crushed pills Daisy gave me into his coffee. That meant he wouldn't wake up.

As soon as I was sure he was asleep, I quietly snuck out of the house. Even though he had policemen watch me on a regular basis, they never did such when he was home. 

It seemed like it was extra eerie tonight because of the wind. It was howling and making the trees swish. That was a good thing and a bad thing. If it woke my father, which I was sure it wouldn't, he would hurt me so bad. But the good thing about it was that I didn't have to be as quiet as I would normally.

"Crimson?"I heard a whisper as I reached the woods."Is that you?"

"Daisy?"I questioned too quietly.

Luckily, it was her. She appeared out of the brush. It was too dark to see her expression so I decided to ask anyway.

"Is everything okay?"

"For now."I felt her arm around mine as we began walking."How did the pills work?"

"Too good. Which is why I'll need more. Can we just hurry and go?"I asked as I began getting a strange feeling."I'm fucking freaking out."

"Alright."she agreed calmly."Eddy's just around the corner. I told him to drive back and forth just in case. Don't worry, we won't get caught."

"God, I hope not."I breathed heavily.

When we saw Eddy's red truck pass by slowly, we ran until he spotted us. I was a little more at ease that he hadn't drove too far. I hopped in the back while Daisy got into the front.

"Phew I'm out of shape."I laughed.

I turned and saw someone unfamiliar. He was a grinning at me and I couldn't help but return the favor.

"This is Ian."Daisy said while she turned around in her seat."Oh my God Crimson! What happend to your face?"

I shook my head so that she already knew. The last thing I wanted to do was attract attention from a person from town who could possibly know my father. I heard Daisy mutter a curse word under her breath as we began driving.

"Crimson is it?"Ian asked and I nodded. He took something out of his pocket and licked it. I realized it was a napkin. He put it up to my face gently and wiped across."Sorry, you had a little blood."

"Thanks."I shied away a little weirded out."I ran into a metal rod while I was sneaking out."

"I'm sorry."he said sympathetically."I would kill that metal rod for you if it came down to it."

Daisy and Eddy both laughed when he said that. He obviously wasn't that stupid to believe what I said. I couldn't help but laugh myself.

"I would've too but I didn't want to go to prison."I joked."I heard the food is disgusting there."

"It's not too bad."he replied.

My eyes widened in shock and I gulped in some air.

"That was a joke."he smirked."I've only ever gotten in trouble for stealing some gum as a kid. Other than that, my record is clean."

"I'm happy for you. You wouldn't want to piss off the cops in town. They're pretty vicious."

"Hmph."Daisy muttered. I could hear the annoyance in her voice."Crimson's dad is a cop. She knows how they are."

"Really now?"he said intrigued."And what is that like? I mean, having a cop as a father?"

"It's....."I didn't know what to say,"Daisy are we still going to the tracks?"

"That was the plan, why?"Eddy answered.

"Can we go somewhere else? I think that place is kind of being...watched. It would make me feel a whole lot better."

"Sure thing Sunny."he said. That was my nickname from him."But the question is, where do we go?"

"I know a place."Ian answered."That is, if you're not afraid?"

"Yeah right."I chuckled."Why on earth would I be afraid?"

He smiled at me showing off his perfectly straight white teeth. Right away, I could tell I would like him. Even if it wasn't in the way most girls would, I knew he and I would get along.

"So I'm thinking about posting another chapter of this in a little while. I actually just barely wrote it. I knew there would hardly be any stories up so I decided to post a chap of this. Anyway, tell me what you think and enjoy...."
