How dare he? Where did he think he had the
right to invade her life again? Why couldn't he have
just moved on with his life? She was pissed. And very
very afraid. What would happen now? Would Brock find out
about their baby? Worst yet would he find out about her
leaking their past? Kaylee frowned in thought.
"Uh earth to Kaylee?" Matt called her waving his
hand in front of her face.
"Oh I'm sorry!" Kaylee gasped grabbing him in a
big hug.
"WHat were you thinking about?"
"Nothing. Just about how life is going for us."
Kaylee lied hoping he couldn't read through it.
"Okay cuz I got something to ask you." He said
not paying close attention.
Kaylee let out the breath she had been holding,
relieved at the situation, "And what's that?"
"Okay, here's the deal. Your parents called and
wanted to know if you wanted to move back with them. All
of us together. I know it will be hard but I will be
there to protect you."
Was he nuts? " Oh Matt, what in the world are
you thinking? Are you crazy? No!"
"Kaylee grow up! Get over it. Move on with your
lie already. I am so sick of waiting for you to open
your eyes and see more than you see in your little
circle. YOu expect everyone just to feel sorry for you."
"Whoa. Bullshit! I have fought for the life I
have now. I have pushed past the feeling sorry for
myself because I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere
with it. If that's how you feel you can leave. The house
is in my name. I intend to keep it. You are a self
absorbed asshole. I will not be going anywhere with
you."
"Heh. I'm a self absorbed asshole huh?"
Without warning his arm struck Kaylee across the
face. He watched as she crumpled to the floor then he
jumped on top of her and yanked her hand away from her
face and held both arms down. He looked into her eyes
and watched the tears come down. " You stupid little
bitch. Wrong words to describe me sugar. I have put up
with you and your stupid baby for long enough. Now it's
my way. I waited until you were ready to make love. I
put you up when you had no place to go. You're very
wrong. This is my house and we will go by my rules from
now on." He looked her straight in the eyes and said, "
Watch your tongue with your next words dear."
Kaylee was in shock she felt her whole body
shaking. Matt just hit me? She couldn't stop crying.
She loved him. Or so she had thought. She sat up after
he crawled off of her, and just shook her head clear.
"No smart comments for once?"
Kaylee just shook her head no and started to
walk past him to the bedroom but he grabbed her arm,
hard enough to make her gasp in pain. He then forced her
to look him in the eyes, "Are you sure?" He twisted her
arm.
"Ouch I said NO!" Kaylee cried out.
"I think that your lying and you want to say a
hell of alot more."
Kaylee bit her tongue. Well yea she wanted to
say stuff like where is my Matt? How did this happen?
Why couldn't life just be good to her? Why was he being
an asshole? And more. But she kept her mouth closed, she
had a feeling it would pay of.
Matt let go of her arm and let her walk away. As
she softly closed the door behind he he hit the wall
with his fist. He ran outside and retched in the weeds
what did he just do?
Kaylee lay in the steaming water and let the
bath water envelope her. She ached emotionally and
physically. She let the tears stream free around her
face. What was the point in hiding them. Was Matt right?
Had she made everyone feel sorry for her? Was she hard
to live with? She wasn't about to leave. This was her
house and the town she had rebuilt her life in. She was
not letting someone push her around. Including the man
she thought she loved.
She heard a knock on the door and then watched
Matt come into the bathroom. "Hurry up we have to make
dinner at my mom's tonight."
Kaylee climbed from the tub and covered herself
with a towel walking past him. She pulled on her
sundress and sat down to do her makeup. She started her foundation when Matt grabbed her hand. "What?"
"You know my mom hates makeup. How many times do I have to tell you?" He asked in disgust.
Kaylee snapped. " I don't have to do anything your mom wants. I am an adult. Neither of you have rights to order me around." She gasped after she spoke.
Matt walked toward her fist raised anger in his eyes.
