Looks Aren't The Only Things That Kill [14]
|
The patio was covered in useless crap that I don't think a crazy Cat Lady would keep. Braden managed to find two beach chairs from under all of the junk. He pulled one up to the banister and patted the dusty plastic. Like a gantleman would, he pulled it out for me until I sat down and pushed me back in. He sat down and gently held my clammy hand. The early afternoon breeze was rejuvinating and smelled fresh, and not like engine exhaust from the city. I don't know how, but for some reason I felt like I was in paradise. Sure, it's not exactly what I expected it to be, but it was. Anything is paradise...as long as I'm with Braden.
I leaned my head on Bradens shoulder and took in a huge breath of purified air. He stroked my perfectly straightened jet-black hair and said I was beautiful. The air came out of my mouth in a giggle and I blushed uncontrollably.
I looked up to see the face of a prince. The sun reflected off his snow-white pale skin and made it glow like he was an angel with silky smooth black hair. His lips looked velvety soft, and his eyes glimmered an aqua blue, like the ocean. He smiled at my face that was stuck in awe at true beauty, white pearls gleaming perfectly. Especially the canines, vampire-fitted.
But look at me. I looked like shit compared to him. For once my hair actually looks good, but my make up is never right, my body's not curvy nor stick skinny, my face was a little too long, and my nose...UGH! My nose...and my lips were'nt full. Thanks a bunch mom and dad for making a creation of horror. I think Braden's blind to my ugliness. He says I'm beautiful and stuff like that, but is he just saying that to keep my hopes up high, or does he mean it?
"Braden?"
"Yeah, sweetie?" he grins at his cuteness. "I...I just don't think-"
"Think what, Nikki? I think we're doing just fine..." he seemed tense, the little muscle in his arm started to bulge and make me nervous. "No no no! Not us! I was gonna say I just don't think i'm beautiful enough for you. I..I mean, I know you say I am, but I don't think I am." I explain to him, stroking his left arm slowly, calming him down. ""What the hell are you talking about?" he asked my with a confused face. "I'm telling you I'm not beautiful enough for you." Simple as that.
"Nikki," he made the tsk-tsk sound while he smiled, "You are, and always will be, the most beautiful girl to come across my head and my eyes." He stared into my eyes. "You're just exactly what I've been looking for. Your eyes just sparkle in the light, and even in the dark. Your smile is perfectly framed in your lips. Your face brings me to life every day. And every time I hear your sweet sweet voice, my heart stops just for a second and restarts when you touch me. Nikki, don't ever say you're not beautiful, because it's a lie. You truely are beautiful, and never forget that. I love you." He ended his whole explination with a passionate kiss on the lips.
He really did mean it. I was just doubting myself the whole time and my whole life. He really was in love with me, and I was in love with him. He lifted me up out of my seat and held me in his arms and I turned to his intricately cheiseled face and just kissed him, and kept my lips there. We stayed like that for the longest time until he put me down.
I checked my cellphone for the time, and it was about to be the end of school. I spent the whole day with the only person I'll ever live for. Braden peered over my shoulder and saw the neon green numbers on the little black screen and aske dme, "Nikki, do you need to go?" I looked up and abruptly said, "No. I don't need to go for another hour." I quickly smiled at him, assuring that I could stay for him. He nodded and went to go sit on his couch. I got up from his kitchen table, walked over to the living room and flipped over the top of the couch and in his lap. He held me tight and kissed me all up and down my face, making me giggle like a little girl.
"You're so cute when you giggle like that!" Braden said fondly. I noticed I squeaked a bit too. "Aww, thanks..." I said flirtatiously. I kissed him on his infamous lips before he could do anything else.
Time must have passed really fast because was time for me to go-already! I got my bag and my phone off the table and scrabled to the door. But wait, why the hell was I doing that?! I wanted to stay! But I had to get home before my mother got home. Like she'd notice I was gone, but I still had to leave. Braaden caught my shoulder and said, "Why the rush?"
"I gotta go, I love you."
"Do you need a ride?" he offered kindly. "No, I'm already a bit late." My phone started to play "Pray For Me" by Sixx: A.M. It was my mom. "Gotta go. I love you so much, Braden." I gave him a quick kiss and ran as fast as I could out the door and to the corner before my phone hit voicemail, my mom hates it when I don't pick up when (she thinks) I'm home. I picked up and automatically said, "Hello?"
"Nicole? I'm gonna be home in 10 minutes with dinner. I hope you did your chores and homework. I'll see you then. Bye!" The phone clicked. She sounded like she was a receptionist at an office. Well, she used to be, so that explains it. But I had to get the hell home! And fast!
Running for my life, I had to beat her Earth-Harming Jaguar home so I don't get my ass kicked. Who the fuck cares if I puke on the sidewalk from excessive running? My life is more valuable that concrete.
Almost to the door, putting extra power in my speed. I get to the door and trudge inside. Guess who's waiting for me right in the kitchen? Yep, you gessed it. My mother. Oh shit. I was dead.
I herby declare Nicole Jennifer Evans...officially dead as of this hour. I thought.
