Just a Dream (2) Savior
|
It was all a nightmare, it had to be. There was no way in heaven or hell this could be true. The secret I tried so desperately to hide ended up killing him and countless others. The things I saw could not be erased easily from my memory. All those men running towards their death like lunatics. The endless war cries that came from them, and him charging at the enemy with grim, determination.
He was one of the last to go. He killed everything he could, but his mighty strength could not hold up to the enemy’s. He perished a hero trying to save his beloved country from this supernatural force, but no one would ever know it. He would never even be missed by anyone except for me, and oh does it hurt. It’s a deep, stabbing pain, that can not and will not be healed. I’m still hoping for a miracle. Hoping that one morning I will find him at the market like the first time we meet. He would take me in his arms, and we would laugh at the devil that held us back. We would be together, and I would tell him the truth, and we would be happy, truly happy.

“Honey? Honey, are you okay? Are you sure she wasn’t hurt?”
“Yes, I’m sure ma’am. She fainted when I got her out of the road.”
“Honey speak to me, please.” I could feel someone’s hand slowly caressing my forehead. Why did it feel so familiar. I know. I thought. “M-mom?” I said shakily.
“Oh, honey, yes it’s me.” I felt her as she hugged me, and then let go. I opened my eyes. I was in my bed, and two people were looking down at me. One was my mother who looked like she was about to cry. The other I didn’t know, but he looked very familiar. He only looked a few years older then my 16 years. His eyes were green just like Jacks, and they stared intently at me. He seemed like he was cold, but I couldn’t imagine why I thought that. “W-what happened?” I asked.
“You were almost hit by car, but I grabbed you and ran just in time.” The guy answered. I was right, his voice was like ice. Now my mother did start to cry.
“Oh, thank you for saving her.”
“Your welcome,” He was still staring at me. I wished he would leave. My mother nudged me in the shoulder. “Thank You” I tried to sound as cold as him, but it just came out in a weak whisper.
“Your welcome” His eyes softened a little, but I still didn’t like him. “I guess I should be going now.”
“Oh, but shouldn’t I give you a reward or something for saving my daughter.” I was surprised to see him somewhat smile.
“No, that’s alright. I really should be going.”
“Oh okay, thank you again….um, what’s your name?”
“Jonathon Stuart” That name didn’t sound familiar at all.
“Well Jonathon, I’m Mrs. Price, and my daughters name is Melody. Thank you so much, and if you ever need any help, or anything your always welcomed here.
“Your welcome Mrs. Price. It was very nice meeting you.” He shook her hand, and then came over to me. “You too Melody,” I wanted to stop him but he took my hand. I thought his hand would be as cold as him, but it was warm, and soft. “I hope we could meet again, but under different circumstances.” His eyes were even softer then they were before, and I found myself speechless. Before I could say anything he turned around, and my mother walked with him to show him the door.
