 * * * *- November 11, 2007-                         Gloria Shafford’s office was as cold as she was. Maybe not physically cold, but mentally. If was obvious she was thought as a high power by the way everything was composed; finished furniture, two large green plants, books, etc. When she came in my heart almost stopped beating. She wore a black dress suit, and her hair back in a tight bun. She shook hands with Tabby and then extended hers out towards Alison. What person would try to shake a four year olds hand, she’d make a terrible mother.  Alison kept her hands clutched on to mine. Her light icy eyes burned a hole in mine as she extended her hand, “Hello, Mz. Rivale” she greeted.I shook her hand; they were like the kiss of death, “Hello”.“This is really just a follow up, because as you know the trial is tomorrow, I’m just checking up, tying loose ends,” she continued, “Its nice to see you out of the dirt and leaves.” She was gazing at Alison, who was more interested in the water fountain at the edged of her desk. Just then the man from the other day, Clark, knocked on the door. “Where am I supposed to be?” he asked. Alison’s grip became tighter.Gloria looked at him annoyed, “Two doors down, how dare you barge in”“Oh, Sorry” he said. He looked at Alison and gave her a weary smile walking away. “Okay, My deepest apologies, ignorance, always in the way” she mumbled“I bet it is,” I added. Gloria didn’t look up at me She is the unprofessional one, she was so implying me.   “Back to where we were” she preceded, “Alison? What wrong with her?”I looked over to see a stream flowing down her cheeks, “what’s the matter honey?”She shook her head and silently sobbed. Gloria stepped in, “Do you know something?” she asked. You don’t ask a child that when they’re crying. All of sudden her sobs became noisy and loud. Gloria leaned in, “Tell us” she persisted, “What do you know”.Alison continued to cry, and repeat, “Cwark… Cw- Cwark”   “Clark, Clark Sandell? Your neighbor? What about him” She demanded. At this point Tabby was crying too. Gloria begun, “Does Clark know what happened to your parents?” she asked. Alison’s tears increase and she cried, “Y-yes, Cwark”. I picked her up on my lap and held her; Tabby came over and stroked her hair. My little beautiful everything’s going to be all right.            Gloria sprung out of her chair, “Can you tell me anything else?” she asked, but Alison was silent. Then Shafford ran out of her office, three minutes later Clark Sandell was in handcuffs. He passed the office and peered into the door for a moment, he shook is head as he glared at Alison.  -November 12, 2007- Gloria-  It started to make more sense. I dug deep into Clark’s criminal record. He was busted years ago for having cocaine on him, but that was when he was nineteen. Then after asking around I found out that he was involved in the dealing of cocaine, but recently was trying to get out.  Rookie stopped in my office, “Yes” I asked. “So whats happening to Chris?” he asked.“Are you kidding? How did you make it into the police business anyways?” He shrugged, and I went on, “We’re suspecting they were in on it together, most likely they both here a little overly tempered and got into a fight. The victims planned on moving out, as well as kicking them to the curb. It’s also suspected that they knew about the risky business Clark was into, considering Tabitha Hamcott claims her brother had been wanting to evict them for months”.“Oh” “Keep up with us, pay attention, its not our fault you’re incompetent. You can cost us, you know”He looked embarrassed at me, “Okay Ms. Shafford”. * * * *
