Chapter 9

I pulled up in RJ’s driveway. Unlike the dream I recently had, his car was out of sight. I pondered where he could be. I briskly shook my head and turned off the car and got out. I searched for the correct key to his house and went inside.

Right before I could close the door a man came out of no where and began to wrestle with me. We fell to the ground rolling all over the floor. I was a muscular girl and wasn’t easy to take down and I think he’s just now realizing that.

“What in the hell?!” I screamed at the top of my lungs using every ounce of strength and speed I had to fight him off. I was rolled over to my stomach. I glanced back to see he had pulled out a pocket knife. At this point, I was kicking him and trying to crawl all at the same time. I reached the den table swiftly as possible and grabbed a vase and basically smacked him with it. I began to hit him repeatedly until he was unconscious.

Anger boiled inside of me and I began to hit him repeatedly in the face, body, and head. I stopped when I broke the glass over his head and noticed he wasn’t breathing and bleeding terribly. I gazed at him until I concluded that I had killed him. I became weak in the knees and clasped my hand over my mouth.

“Oh no,” I said in a whisper.

RJ walked in the house and said yelled, “Oh shit! What happened?”

“He attacked me and I fought him off with the vase and I ki-” I stopped in mid sentence unable to form the word ‘kill.’ Tears began to flow down my cheeks.

“Come here,” He said holding me close.

“I’m going to jail.” I sobbed burying my head into his shoulder.

“No. No you’re not. We can hide his body and pretend it never happened.” He let go of my body and held my face with his fingertips. “Ok?”

I nodded but I knew I could never forget this horrible incident. I’d probably have a guilty conscience for the rest of my life about it.

We had stuffed his body into a garbage bag with gloves on and everything so no one could identify us in any way, shape, or form. The body was now in the trunk of RJ’s car. I was jittering, praying to God that no one spotted us and/or got suspicious, especially the police.  RJ squeezed my hand in comfort and I tried relaxing a bit but it was no use. It was 1 ‘o’ clock at night when we decided to do this since the streets were practically empty of any people or motioning cars.

We came to a halt on the bridge that was located above the river. RJ got out of the car and stood there for a few minutes looking around to see if there were any bystanders and/or cameras. But we were pretty sure there were no cameras in this area due to it not having any street lights or businesses and not too many houses as well. He nodded his head at me giving me the cue to open the trunk and get out. I did so and both me and RJ in a fast pace grabbed the body and threw it in the river. The huge splash seemed to echo in my mind.

“Let’s go now!” RJ said speed walking to the other side of the car. I hurriedly got in as well and we drove off. Even though the deed was done I felt I would still be locked up behind bars and if not that my mind was in a state that made me believe I was going to be in my own little psychological prison.
