The Game =7=

December 2008

It was a supposed good day today. We were at the club for about 4 hours already and decided to spend one more hour there. No drinks were taken from me though, no worries.

But Elante had some. He was a little tipsy. I looked at him while were dancing and frowned.

“You hella drunk Elante,” I said chuckling.

He smiled and grabbed my waist and gave me a kiss. I pulled away and said, “Damn, I might get drink just kissing you. How many drinks you have?”

“Just a few, baby,” He said.

I gave him a look telling him I knew he was telling a bold faced lie. He laughed and kissed me on the cheek. Some dude then bumped into us. I rolled my eyes at the dude and looked at Elante who looked really pissed. I frowned and said, “Elante, what’s wrong?”

“That was disrespectful,” He said.

I shook my head and tugged at his arm, “Don’t start no shit Elante, just dance with me baby,” I said trying to get him to dance.

He got out my grip and tapped dude on the shoulder. I put my head in my hand and looked at the situation from the corner of my eye.

“Look man,” Elante began, “I don’t like the way you just bumped into us with out saying sorry or nothing,” He said.

The boy or man waved him off and turned around. Elante turned him around and just out of no where hit him dead in his jaw and the fight broke out. I screamed and was about to stop him then remembered I was pregnant.

I backed away from the chaos and then looked around for one of our friends from the crew.

Luckily they came before I could even walk away security began to escort all of them out. I followed our posse and we began to walk down the street next to Elante who was a little stumbling. I didn’t believe this was because of the fight, more because he was drunk. I held him up a little. He put his arm around my shoulder and kissed me on the side of my head.

“I ain’t gon’ let shit happen to you babe,” He said.

I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Then we heard screeching of the wheels of a car against the street and a bunch of people screaming.

Then all of a sudden;
Pow pow pow!

I then was on the floor with Elante on top of me. Scared Tears escaped.

“Elante what’s happening?”

Now answer.

“Elante!” I said.

He moaned a little and l got from under him smoothly and looked at his bloody body.

I screamed, “Elante!”

All of us crowded around him.

“Call the police!” I said.

People began chattering and I did hear someone have a conversation with the police.

Polices and ambulances came around and carried Elante away and interrogated others. I left the situation and ran home. I went into my house and my mom screamed when she seen me covered in blood.

“Mom, we go to go to the hospital!” I said.

“I see! What happened to you?!?” She yelled.

“It’s not me, it’s Elante.” I said grabbing her arm.

She nodded understanding and grabbed her keys and we speeded off to the hospital.

A week later

I stared at Elante and began to cry.

“What’s wrong?” He asked weakly…

Ooooohhh
Y’all thought it was over?
Naw, not exactly.
