Paula:Tyrell what are you tryin to do to me?

Tyrell:What you talkin bout?

Paula:Dont play dumb!

Tyrell:What?!?

Paula:The rumor Tyrell!The rumor!What was that for?All we did is kiss not...you know.

Tyrell:I didn't say dat to nobody!

I looked him in the eye.He did look sincere.I loosened up.

Paula:Ok,I'm sorry.But that's what Chris said.Well he didn't say your name but-

Tyrell:Chris said that.Why would he say that?

I wanted to lie but I couldn't think of it.I bit my lip.

Paula:I think I know why.

Tyrell:Why?

I sighed.

Paula:He asked me out.So we went to the movies and he started kissing me and touching me in the wrong ways.So I said "Cool it" ya know and he got mad sayin I was thinkin I was too good for him.And it wasn't that it was just that I didn't feel right with him like I feel right with you.

All my eavesdropping friends were like "Aww!."I smile at them then turned back to Tyrell.

Tyrell:Why didn't you tell me this before.

Paula:Cause I didn't want you callin me a ho' like yo brother.

Tyrell:Hold on,he called you a ho'?

He looked pissed. 

Paula:Yeah.But don't go fightin him or anything because I don't want y'all fighting over me or anything.

Tyrell:Naw dat aint cool.Where he at?

He started walking around looking for him.We both spotted him at the same time.How do I know?Because he started charging at him.I tried grabbing  his arm but he slipped away.

Paula:No!

BOOM!Too late.A fight has broken out between two brothers and it was all my fault.People formed a circle making it harder for me to get through.I was luckily in the middle though.I got through.Two teachers were trying to break it up.I pulled Tyrell off of Chris.

Paula:Stop please!

Tyrell let go.The gym teacher grabbed Chris and me and another teacher grabbed Tyrell.

Gym Teacher:Both of y'all can go to the office.

Tyrell snatched his hand away from us and headed toward the office glaring at Chris.Chris also glared.

Paula:Can I go to the office?Because I know some stuff too.

Sitting in the principal's office all three of us.I was in the middle of them both.The principal,Mr. Mucklin,looked at us as if we stole some money from the bank.I sighed waiting for him to say something.

Mr. Mucklin:Why were you fightin'?Huh?Somebody steal something?Drugs?Guns?

Paula:That's not cool!

Chris,Tyrell,and Mr. Mucklin looked at me in shock.

Paula:You don't say that to everybody.And you know what I mean.

Mr. Mucklin:I didn't ask for a speech Ms. McWhorter,besides I don't even know why you're here?

Paula:I wanna give the truth.

He sighed.

Mr. Mucklin:Well what's the story then?

Paula:See,Chris called me a bad word and Tyrell really didn't like because we-

Mr. Mucklin:Oh so this was done out of love Mr. Jackson?You fought you're own brother for a girl.Teen love!What do ya know?

He shook his head and chuckled.

Mr.Mucklin:I should expel you both.But I'm not.Both of you are on two week suspension though.Do not let this happen again.Do you hear me?

Both:Yes sir.

Mr.Mucklin:And you Ms. McWhorter.

I looked at him.

Mr.Mucklin:Watch out for who you love.

He laughed.I stood up in disgust and left.Chris and Tyrell both followed me.I stood outside the office and leaned against the wall.

Paula:I shouldn't have came.

Tyrell:You right.

He walked next to me.

Tyrell:You just made matters worse!

Paula:News flash Tyrell!You hit him first it doesn't get worse than that.

Tyrell:You should let a grown man handle.

Paula:You are not grown!And I can handle myself too!

I breathed furiously.

Tyrell:Come with me.

Paula:What are you talkin about?

Tyrell:I can't go home.Just come with me please.

Paula:You mean skip school?

Tyrell:Yeah.

I wanted to skip school with him but they would call my dad.

Paula:I have an idea.

I went to the nearest girls' bathroom and pulled out my cell.I called the school office.

Secretary:Eastwood Highschool.

I used my sweet voice.

Paula:Hi this is Glenda,Paula's step-mother,and we have a family issue her cousin just died.And I was wondering if you can excuse her from school because I can't leave my family,they need me right now.

Secretary:Sorry to hear that.But she takes the bus home ma'am.

Paula:She missed the bus today and took our car.Don't worry she has a license.

Secretary:Ok,we'll call her right away ma'am.

Paula:Thank you,bye.

Secretary:Bye.

*Click*

I smiled.I walked out of the bathroom and next to Tyrell.

Paula:Now all I gotta do is go to class and get a slip.You wait outside next to the steps.

He nodded and walked outside.I went to my class.

Teacher:Um...Ms.McWhorter you have to leave now.The office called.

I nodded and headed back for the office.I smiled walking through the halls.I stopped when I reached the office.The secretary gave me a little note.

Secretary:Can I see your license?

I pulled it out of my purse and showed it to her.

Secretary:Ok,you have a nice day and drive safe.

I smiled and walked out.I went to Tyrell and we walked to the parking lot.We got in his car and drove off.
