All day dat voice was killin me.After school I gathered my books and practically ran out of the school.

Just my luck,not watchin where I was going I bumped into him.Calvin.I fell to the ground.He stuck his hand out.I just looked at it.I got up and dusted off my pants.

Calvin:Umm....sorry.

I nodded and kept walkin.Ashley came up to me.

Ashley:So uhhh.....where yo bestfriend.

Monique:Please not now.

Ashley:Well when?

Monique:When you lose da funky attitude!Look, you dont understand-

Ashley:No you dont understand dat dis is da girl dat tried to jump you last week.

Monique:And where were you when it happened.

She was silent.

Monique:And I told yall  she said sorry dats all I needed.

Ashley scoffed.

Ashley:Whatever.

She turned around and walked towards her house.I shook my head and continued to walk home.I went through da alley dat caused last week's drama.I smiled and kept walkin.

From behind someone grabbed my waist and scared me to death.I turned around and it was Calvin.

Monique:What da fuck!

I hit him on the arm.He was laughin.

Calvin:My bad.I had to,it was tempting.

I rolled my eyes.

Monique:What are you doing over here anyway?

Calvin:I live dis way.

Monique:I never seen you.

Calvin:Cause you wasnt lookin.

I shook my head.

Monique:So tell me,why you some down here when we only got two more weeks of school?

Calvin:Ask my dad I dont know.

Monique:Oh, what happened to yo mom.Wait you aint gotta answer dat Im so nosy.I did dat to my boyfriend once and-

Calvin:Boyfriend?

Monique:Yeah,is dat hard to believe?

Calvin:Oh naw I was just hoping to not hear that.

I giggled.

Monique:Well Im sorry.

We kept walkin til we got to my house.We stopped.

Calvin:I'll see you at school tomorrow.

Monique:Yeah.

I went in the house and grabbed da phone.I dialed Vonte's cell.

Vonte:Hello.

Just da sound of his voice made me want him to come home now.

Monique:Hey Boo.

Vonte:Oh wussup.

Monique:Nothin much.Cant wait to see me huh?

He laughed.

Vonte:You know I cant.You been behaving yo self?

Monique:Of course.

Vonte:Oh my dad need help.

Monique:How is he?

Vonte:He cool.

Monique:Oh.Tell him I said hey.

Vonte:Aight I gotta go.

Monique:Aight bye.

Vonte:Bye.

I hung up.I got up and went outside.I couldnt wait for tomorrow.I took a walk around the block.I seen Calvin playin cans what looked like his lil brother.He put a finger up tellin him to hold on.He ran to me.

Calvin:Wussup Moe.Seen you came for me.

Monique:Boy.I was just goin for a walk.

Calvin:Oh.

Boy in the back:Hey Calv Im bout to go to the store.You need somethin?

Calvin turned around and shook his head.The boy shrugged and waled to the store.

Calvin:You wanna chat?

Monique:Well I would but it looks like its gon rain.

Calvin:We can sit on porch.

I shrugged and followed him to a little red porch.The house looked nice from the outside.He sat on the bars of the porch and I sat in a chair from across from him.

Monique:Well how school goin for ya?

Calvin:It's goin good I guess.

It started to rain a little harder.

Monique:Meet anybody other than me?

Calvin:Yeah but you seem the coolest.

I smiled.

Monique:That's nice.

Calvin:So what can a guy do to get wit a girl like you?

Monique:Nothin but wait.

It started to rain harder.

Monique:Well I gotta go.

I stood up and Calvin grabbed me by both arms and kissed me.
