Blue Eyed Wonder [Chapter 3]

But then again, if you think about it, who isn't? Chapter 3

The bell to end second period rang and Carla left the hallway, hoping to avoid Harrison or any of his friends. Unfortunately she could hear Harrison shouting her name, and his friends cracking up.  She ducked into the girls bathroom. She didn't want to handle anything now.

She ducked into history five minutes late, explaining that she got lost.  The teacher said it was okay and to take a seat.  For the next 45 minutes they went over rules and handbooks.

The exact same thing happened during fourth period physics.  But they also started to learn some things.  They review some scientific notation, and significant figures, which Carla didn't understand too well.

Finally the bell for homeroom rang.  She took her seat, and the teacher quieted the room.

"Hi. My name is Mrs. Kent. I'll be your homeroom advisor.  You can sit wherever you wish, however, you must remain seated and keep your voices down," she finished with a smile, then sat at her desk.

Carla took out her physics homework and began to start, but she couldn't concentrate.

"Why would he act like that?  Usually he's so nice... a sweetheart.  I really liked him. Apparently I made a mistake," she thought. 

Her thinking kept up during the rest of homeroom and all though lunch. Harrison kept his distance, knowing exactly how mad Carla can get.

"Dude, let's get to lunch! I'm starving," one of Harrison's friend said to him as he sat in homeroom when the bell rang.

"Huh..um..okay," Harrison stammered as he slowly got up and trudged down the hall.

"Maybe I should back away a bit.  She's a devil when she get's angry... I'll never forget the time she walked outside and saw Mark painting an Italian flag on her garage... the writing 'Go back home, immigrant' on it.  She blew up... Italian cursing... Boy, can she throw a punch. She's so amazing, why'd I have to go and screw it up?" he thought as he sat at the table, lunchless, staring at Carla, while his friends joked around and threw food.

The rest of the day went by with out too much of a change.  She sat through english, pre-calculus, and spanish listening to the same rules over and over again.

Finally the last bell rang, and she walked out to the busses.  She sat in the front instead of sitting in back and waiting for Harrison.

But Harrison didn't get on the bus.

Carla finally arrived home, being more grateful than ever that she was there, and plopped on her bed and just layed there.

She must have nodded off, because at 4:30, the doorbell rang, waking her up.

She slowly walked out to the kitchen, attempting to fix her messy bun.

She opened the door, and was surprised at what, or who, she saw.
