Golden Dawn preface

Creative Created on 7-1-07 Views(132) Story Rating G

Lazily, Fate beheld the beauty enfolded in his arms. Magnificence had been discovered by him in many forms. The power of a griffon, elegance of a phoenix, and the grace of the winged horse Pegasus were all comfortable familiarity in his memory; but this manifestation mystified him to the extent of extremes—for it came to him in the body of a woman.

He twirled a silken strand of her curly black hair around his finger, perfectly content with watching the rise and fall of her chest as she slept. Since the very beginning he had shared a bond with her that normally wasn’t present in his connections with humans as it existed between him and animals. Considering what he was, his deep curiosity in her was baffling to him.

Usually, Fate’s span of understanding and knowledge was broad to the point of no boundaries. If he studied something long enough in his silent observation he would eventually conclude the concept and store it in the deep in his memory where it would never be forgotten. But try as he might, he could not understand this woman.

The deeper he delved, the more confused Fate became. It was as though she were surrounded by a thick fog and when he penetrated the hazy wall, the mist enveloped him, disorienting him until he had lost his way and forgot which direction he had intended on pursuing.

It was the only mystery ha hadn’t solved, and 15 years after his discovery of her four year old baffling existence, it looked as though it would be a puzzle that remained uncompleted. She called herself Ivory Grace Forester. And Fate loved her in every aspect.
