My mother talked about my dad like she was still in love with him. Just towards the end there was a bitter tone on her voice.
My dad. She said, "He had a dark brown crew cut, charcoal colored eyes, he never stopped for anything. He was already married when we had you and then your brother. He ran away, left us. He still loves you though I know it."
"Mommy!", I sobbed. "I don't want you to go! You have to stay! I'M ONLY 12 and Carson is only 6. Mommy I love you."
"Honey, stay strong for me. Please get your brother so I can say goodbye."
I went and told my brother, he didn't get it. We were all laying in mothers arms until her breathing ceased. I vowed to find my father and to find the rest of my family. I was determend. That day my life was only open to my brother, and my heart was cold as ice, it melted when my brother was around me. I just cried as I started packing.
