I turned around. There were Maribel and Kathi wearing a very revealing blue bikini. Just the sight of her face made me sick let alone her ‘junk’.

            “Why don’t you go home?” she asked. “Emo’s aren’t welcome here.” I laughed at her. I had never been called an emo. I was just Rose and Law was just Law.

            “We have the same right to be here as you.” Law glared at her.

            “Oooh I’m so scared!” Kathi taunted him.

            “I’m not going to hit you cause you’re a girl.” Law said

            “But nothings stopping me!” I said running at them. They screamed and ran away.

            “Ha! You showed them!” he said. We went and changed.  I came out wearing a purple bikini with skulls and Law wore red swim shorts with a black dragon.

            “Last one to the slide has to kiss Coach Tubby!” I yelled and we took off. We climbed the high steps and Law went first. The water was rushing downwards in the spiral slide. It was so awesome.

            I went next and when the water hit my back I yelped from the cold. Light flickered in and out as I went down, illuminating the tunnel. It was so incredible; finally I came out and with a huge splash, landed in the pool.

 I felt some one behind me pull on my bikini top. I turned to see Kathi but it was too late and it was off. Everyone laughed at me. I wrapped my arms around myself. My face turned red and I wanted to cry.

Law rushed to me and threw a towel around me. He pulled me out of the water and walked me to his car. I was crying hard.

“Why would she do that? I never did anything to her!” I sobbed.

“She’s a bitch and she really proved it today.” He said.

“I don’t even know where my stuff is.” I bawled.

“I got them right here and your top too.” He said. He helped me into the Mustang and he guarded the window while I put on my t-shirt.

“Let’s go get something to eat, baby.” He said. “And we don’t even have to get out of the car.”

Law drove to a nearby Sonic and ordered cheese coneys, French fries, and coke floats. He turned the radio and Jet’s other song of the year “Cold Hard Bitch” was playing.

“There is Kathi’s song.” I said laughing. Law smiled.

“Are you feeling better now?” he asked.

“If you give me food and caffeine I’m happy forever!” I said. He chuckled.

“I’ll remember that.” He said.

“I guess you want to go home before Aimee’s show, huh?” he asked.

“Yeah, I need to change.” I told him.

“OK.” He drove me home but he got out with me and went in the house. My mom had left with Nanny to go somewhere. I opened the door to my room and Law said “Wow.”

He looked at all my posters, CD’s, and books. “I love your room, it rocks!” he told me. He looked at my calendar.

“Your birthdays next week! Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked.

“No one ever remember it.” I frowned.

“Well, I will!” he told me. He put his arms around me, “I’m not like other guys.” He said. “I’ll always be here for you.” He pecked my cheek. “I’ll leave for a while so you can change.”

“Ok. Bye!” I told him.

“Bye!” he waved.

The clock read 6:45. Law was fifteen minutes late to pick me up. I paced my room and sighed. Then I heard a horn beep and I grabbed my purse and ran out.

I heard my Dad yell after me, “You had better be home by 11:00!” Screw you!  

I hopped in the car and Law apologized.

“My mom needed me to help her with some gardening.” He said.

“It’s ok.” I told him. He took off and sped to the Comedy Club. We were three minutes late getting in. Law paid the fee and we took seats in the back.

I didn’t even know the comedians name but he was freaking hilarious! He had my

sides splitting and I was in tears. Law was holding himself together a little better but he had a smirk on his face that told me he was laughing on the inside. 7:00 came around and the guy said his goodbyes.

            I saw Aimee and her band start setting up. They looked so awesome. I saw a guy I thought was Keith. He had spiky brown hair and was dressed like a real rock star. He had a white pinstripe jacket, a green shirt, and black skinny jeans that made him look very sexy.

            Wait? Why am I checking him out? Law hates him! I turned to Law but he was gone. I was alone and I started panicking. Where did he go?

            A few minutes later Law came back with a t-shirt and an autographed picture.

            “I bet he’ll be famous in a few years.” Law told me.

            “I never caught his name.” I said.

            “Stephen Colbert.” He told me. He gave me the shirt and I smiled.

            “Thank you.” As I said that the lights went dim. The band was starting.

            Keith walked to the center of the stage.

“Hello Tuscaloosa! We are Pinescreech! We are here to rock your socks off! 1, 2, 3!” he yelled. Loud rock music blared. It was the best thing I had heard in a while. Keith had such a stage presence. He looked so serious and so in the zone.

I saw Aimee playing every riff with her heart. She was so pretty and complimented Keith’s voice perfectly. Tonight was their night.

After the show Law went outside and I went to see Aimee.

“Oh my gosh! You rocked!” I exclaimed.

“Thanks, but Keith’s the rocking one.” She said to me. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see Keith close up. He was a little taller than Law and he had a nose ring. He smiled at me.

“Hi, I’m Keith Spinner, lead singer of your favorite band.” He said full of himself.

“I’m Rose Flanagan.” I shook his hand.

“Top of the morning to ya, Rose.” He said making an Irish joke.

“I’m Mexican, my dads adopted.” I told him.

“Ah, well, top of the morning to you, ese.” He said. I giggled uncontrollably. “Hey, the band and me are going to get some breakfast. You want to come?” he eyed.

“I don’t know. I’m here with my boyfriend. I think you know him.” I said.

“Really? What’s his name?” he asked.

“Law Ballard.” I mumbled.

“Ah, Laurence! Well go get him! We’re going to Pam’s.” he said. I nodded and went to get Law. Something told me this was a bad idea.
