Now or Never (part three)

                                                                 Part three

Kenny came from the back of the store with the girl and without the video. “So where is the video you wanted?” I asked, but the girl replied “I changed my mind, I got something else I wanted, then turn to Kenny and said I’ll call you later” and walked out of the store. I turned to Kenny, “Kenny you’re causing us to lose customer I mean you do that to any hot girl that come in here you have to stop, plus if you want to make out with someone you could take them into the employee’s bathroom so the other customer wouldn’t see .” Kenny came behind the counter to get some of the movies that other customer had returned earlier when I was in school. “Okay mom, I’ll that next time” he said sarcastically.

I sat down waiting for the other customers to come back with the movie they wanted to rent. I looked at the clock over the door before closing my eyes and thinking about the unique way Jacob had asked me out, it was so cute. The older couple walked up to the counter with three DVDs. I stood up and walked back over to the counter and priced check the DVDs. “Now are you renting or buying these?” I asked nicely. The older woman turned to her husband before he replied “buying” and I replied “okay that will be fifty dollars.” The guy pulled out a fifty and handed it to me. “Thank you very much”, as I opened the register and placed it inside of it.

I pulled a couple of bag from underneath the counter and set them on the top of the counter to avoid having to keep bending down. I took one of the plastic bags and put the three DVDs inside, while handing him the receipt. “Thank you for shopping at Cinema movies”. They turned around and headed out of the store as the other customer approached with the movie “Some kind of wonderful”. “Hi, are you renting or buying.” I asked and she replied “It depend is It any good?” And I replied “I think that it was perfect, it was something that I would watch over and over again myself.” And she replied “Well I guess I’ll buy it then” she said with a smile.

I looked at her and said “If you don’t like it I’ll let you exchange it for any movie in the store my treat” and she replied “I’m pretty sure that I’ll love It.” I price check the movie and said “that will be ten dollars and seven cent.” She pulled a twenty out of her pocketbook and handed it to me. I opened the register, put the twenty in and took out nine dollars and ninety cent and handed it to her “Here’s your change” Then handed her; her receipt and put the movie into a bag, before finally handed it to her. I couldn’t believe that time was moving so damn slow. I mean it was only five o'clock and we all know that this store isn’t really busy on Wednesdays.

I sat back down waiting for any customer to come in and no one came for a whole hour. Who would actually want to keep working someone that barely really has any customers? Mr. Knoxville better be lucky I need this money for my college tuition. Tuition is too much money for my mother to pay for alone, plus I don’t really have anything else to do with my life. I have no friends what so ever the closet person to being a friend in my life is Kenny and maybe even my sister. My mother and my father had gotten a divorce when my sister was five, he damn there left her without anything; his greedy ass.

The bell went off which mean that a customer had came into the store I stood and started smiling when I realized who it was. I walked up to the counter and said “did you forget something Jacob?” He came behind the counter. “Jacob you can’t be back here.” I said with a smile. He pulled me close and kissed me, and then he replied “I forgot that who knows what will happen if I tried that at your house tonight”. Kenny came from the back of the store with nothing in his hands. Kenny said “and you have the nerve to talk about me, you’re breaking two rules at once.” I tuned to him “Shut up Kenny no ones even here. Just as I said that Mr. Knoxville walked into the store with a small box in his hands. “What’s this?” he asked. I was stuck I didn’t know what to say so I just said what ever came to mind.
