Holding what seemed to be the only beat of life left in the god forsaken hell whole of a home, Justin walked across the room, petting the small thing that was cuddled into his hands. He sat down on a seat that had velvet material laid across it. As he hunched over to look at the specimen you could hear the floor boards squeak.
His eyes wide with tears streaming out, and a smile larger then any he had ever made. He could feel it pulsating, and he knew he was what would determine it’s fait.
“Will you live or die my friend, will you live or die?” he laughed as he stroked the pink yet dunked in red heart.
He heard a noise come from the other room, he quickly stood up from the seat and covered the heart in both hands holding it to the side of him, as if he were trying to hide it.
It was silent for a few minutes, so out of curiosity Justin slowly walked over to the door way peaking his head around the corner.
“Hello.” a voice said.
Justin jumped almost letting lose of the heart. His eyes scrolled the room looking for the voice. He didn’t see anyone.
“Who’s there?” he managed to say.
A shadow of a man walked from the corners and into the light. His hair reached to his jaw, and it was blond, with darker highlights mixed in with the tangled mess. He wore glasses, and had pricks of hair sticking from his jaw line to his sideburns, to add it all off h had a soul patch on his chin.
Justin looked at him in awe. His mind went blank and his face looked at if he had just seen a ghost. The man that stood before him was, him.
“What’s going on?” he managed to say.
The reflective image of himself cocked his head and smiled.
“I’m just here to help you finish the job, isn’t that what you want?” the voice seemed unpleasantly happy.
The man walked over swinging what appeared to be an axe.
“All that power, all that control, it must be something special, hu!?” an insanity of laughter bellowed out of his mouth as Justin just stood there frozen and confused.
Justin was getting nervous and his eyes turning pink, and had a bit of sweat dropping from his hair line, his body was shaking uncontrollably.
“Wh-wh-what are you?” he stuttered.
The man laughed again. As he laughed he started to have nerve spasms, with each spasm you would hear a bone crack, and snap as he walked closer to Justin. Finally face to face with Justin he stopped laughing and looked him in the eyes, while Justin tried to avert his eyes away.
“Don’t you know? I’m you. “ he laughed again twisting his head in a 360 degrease motion.
Justin took a few steps back till he hit the wall, his body slid down the wall till his bottom hit the ground.
“Please, don’t kill me.” he said as tears built up in his eyes, and he held the heart close to his chest.
“I’m not here to kill you, I’m here to help you rid of that bloody thing in your hands. I’m going to help set you free, you’ll understand the meaning of life once you take a life. Trust me, this will make you a lot happier.” the man said as he walked over an knelt down in front of Justin.
“Now get up, and follow me, it’s one thing to take a life and it’s another to watch as you do it.” he grabbed Justin by the collar and dragged him to the basement door shoving him down the steps.
“Come on come on come on, lets go. We don’t have all night.” he moaned as Justin tried to resist a bit of the shoving.
As they walked down the steps Justin could here mumbling, then he aw feet, then he saw his once loved Cindy strapped in a chair, gagged with a sock and chained to the ground.
Justin’s jaw dropped as he went to look at the heart. It’s her heart? he thought.
“Ha, ha! Look it’s you Ex, how exciting, this should make it easier right? Just remember all the pain she put you through, and squeeze her life away slowly till she begs for forgiveness, then-” he paused passing the axe to Justin, “Just chop her head off.” he smiled.
Justin held the axe unsure what to do, he was never mad at Cindy, and never held a grudge, he couldn’t bear to hurt her, he still felt love for her, and loved the time they had spent together, there was no way he could go through with it.
“You can’t honestly expect me to do this can you?” he said looking at the man.
Cindy tried to scream for help through her plugged mouth. The man turned at her in disgust,
“Shut up you whore!” he shouted, he then looked back at Justin “Of course I do, look at her!? She doesn’t deserve to live! She’s so ungrateful, she such a slut, and after all WE had done for her, she gives us no respect back, not even a thank you, but instead she decides to just say we’re threw!? Why shouldn’t we chop her head off, unless you’d rather die instead?” He said staring at Justin.
“If I die, wont you?” Justin said.
The man tilted his head and place a finger to his head and scratched as he pondered for a moment.
“Hmmm, possibly.”
“Then if you dare touch or make me hurt hair, I swear I’ll kill myself, thus killing you!” Justin said placing the axe to his neck as a threat.
The mans eyebrows narrowed down wards, he was angry, he walked over to Justin and snatched the axe off him, turning it behind him whacking the chains that held Cindy trapped.
“How about we do a test then,, lets see if I actually die when you are gone!” he shouted as he grabbed Justin and tossed Cindy in the chair and him in her place. The man snapped his fingers and before Justin could get up chains sprung to life strapping him down in the chair.
“Wait, NO! let me go!” Justin shouted as he struggled trying to break free from the chains.
The man walked over to Cindy.
“Cindy, my dear. If you kill that man in front of you, I promise to let you go alive.” he said handing her a heart.
Cindy’s eyes were wide and pink, an swollen from all the tears she cried. She hesitantly reached out for the heart, then paused.
“If I do this, you’ll let me live?” she asked making sure of the deal.
“Correct.” he smiled.
Cindy slowly grabbed the heart. Justin’s eyes grew wide, he started to shake his body back and forth trying to break free from the chair as he screamed.
“Noo! Don’t do it! Please!! “ he shouted begging for his life.
Cindy’s hands clutched the heart, and she slowly began to squeeze, tears rolled from her eyes as she tried not to look or hear Justin’s suffering. Justin’s body continued to rock back and forth still trying to break free, but at the same time he was gasping for air and feeling a burning sensation in his chest, his eyes were turning blood shot red, and he soon stopped trying to struggle for freedom and started to struggle to try and grab his chest.
The man walked over to Justin , and bent over to be at eyelevel with him.
“Hm, what do you know, I’m not dieing.” he grinned.
He walked back over to Cindy, swinging th axe and handing it to her.
“Now my dear, it’s time to finish the job.”
Cindy grabbed the axe and stood up. She walked over slowly in a slump, and looked at Justin. She held the axe up high above him and opened her mouth.
“IM SORRY JUSTIN!” she shouted as she threw the axe down through Justin’s body splitting him in half.
She let loose of the axe that was imbedded inside Justin’s rib cage, and fell to her knees crying.
“Well done my dear.. “ he said clapping, “but there’s one more thing I have to tell you.” he paused standing behind her holding a rusty crowbar above his head.
She looked behind her and let out a yelp as the crow bar smashed into her face.
“I still never forgave you for breaking my heart.”
