                       CHAPTER 2
                          LOGAN

"Get me the heck out of here."
As many times as I said that in my mind, I couldn't manage to get my feet moving towards the door. Maybe I should get my ice cream first...NO! I need to get out of here! Why did I have to notice her! Tracey was sitting there with her friends when he started to notice the stares from the group coming in his direction.

I thought nothing about it at first, until i literally crapped my pants when I realized my name was uttered out of the lips of the girl closest to Tracey. I swear I did, I swear I crapped my pants. Maybe I should check...wait...no, I didn't crap my pants...but I sure as heck came close! WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME! How could one girl have so much power over my thoughts? I mean... my gosh, can't a looner guy like me just get a flippin ice cream cone? This is ridiculous....
   "Sir."
I mean who seriously cares about Tracey Shay.
   "SIR."
What am I talking about....everyone cares about Tracey!
"SIR CAN I TAKE YOUR ORDER!"
The man behind the cash register looked at me with fire raging in his eyes. His face was nearly purple and the veins in his neck popped out from his fake bake tan.
"Cool out, Mr. Fake Bake... I want a Rocky Road triple scoop large waffle cone....please. OH! and can you put some nuts on top of that stuff, makes it taste a whole lot better."
"I got your order down, but what you call me? Mr. Fake Bake?"
Reverse physcology.... I promise it works almost 99 percent of the time.
"Dude, what are you talking about? I just want my ice cream."
"You called me something...now what was it?"
"I honestly have no clue what your talking about. I just asked for a Rocky Road triple scoop with a large waffle cone with nuts."
   "Wait...what?"
Oh did I want to laugh. I mean seriously... it was very hilarious, to see the confusion written all over his face. In fact, I would have kept going with the whole conflict, if the people in line behind me didn't start barking at the man behind the counter to speed up the process.
"Whatever kid, you will get your ice cream in a minute."
   "Why thank you sir."
Grumbling under his breath he walked away to bark my order at the teenagers who worked as his colleagues. Thank you baby jesus that I was not one of them.

Finally getting my ice cream I began to walk towards the nearest exit. While halfway through the glass door, I bumped into someone. Without seeing the face of the person, but noticing the color of their hair and the clothes they were wearing, my breath stopped and my eyes darted to wear the face would soon be revealed. When the mysterious person's identity was revealed, I couldn't help but say...
"Umm...is this a weird time to say that I still have your Hulk action figure?"

                             TRACEY

Ice cream was everywhere. I was freezing, and my friends were laughing. This was wonderful. This was the proudest moment of my life. NOT. What in the world just happened? How did it happen? Who did I bump into? The last question I asked myself caught my interest the most, when I turned to see who the person was.... My eyes widened in surprise.

Logan Trooper.

"Umm...is this a weird time to say I still have your Hulk action figure?"
"In some cases yes, but in mine...no. You really do though... seriously?"
Logan began to laugh and his face turned to a dark red. He was embarrassed.
   "Yeah, I do."
He had certainly grown up, I thought to myself as I took in his profile. He had dyed his hair black, a gorgeous black I should say. It looked so shiny and healthy compared to most guys in this day of age. His eyes were the lightest of blues though. They were almost a grey color they were so light. I never remember as a child taking in so much of him as I was right now. Had he always looked so.... stunning?
   "Well....that's really cool Logan."
"Really? I thought you were gonna laugh in my face...to be quit honest."
"No....it is. Seriously. No humor intended there."
They both stared at each other then. No words said. Just silence. To most people, this would have been awkward, but to them, it was capturing every essence expressed at that time.
"I am so sorry about bumping into you though Tracey. I'm sure you didn't want your clothes to demolish your ice cream."
Wow...a guy with humor that was actually...kinda funny. He always was funny though. Wait...why haven't I noticed him much until now. I mean he was my neighbor.
"Oh, it's not a problem Logan. No harm here. It was a close call though."
He started to laugh at my comment, and I followed close behind him with my own laughter.
"Well the least I can do is walk you home. I mean you live right next door."
"That's very true.... let me just got tell my friends real quick."
Having said that, a face that almost reminded me of a expression someone might have before they fell down dead came over Logan's face. I could tell, he wasn't a huge fan of my friends.
   "Okay, that's cool."

Walking over to my friends who were just now getting ready to go, I said..
"I'm gonna walk home with my neighbor, if that's okay guys?"
Marilyn who had asked me earlier about Logan came forward and spoke up again
"You mean walk home with Logan Trooper, are you kidding me?"
"No Marilyn, I'm not kidding you."
Oliver with a frown on his face, stepped forward and stood in front of the group.
"I thought you were going to go joy riding with us tonight?"
He gave me the puppy dog eyes that I usually fell for. But most of the time... I wasn't covered in ice cream.
"Not gonna go this time around Oliver, sorry. I'm gonna see you on Thursday though! Okay? I will talk to you guys tomorrow!"
With having that said, I left them standing there with mouths hanging open. I guess it was hard for them to believe that I left them for Logan... the school loner.
"Hey you ready to go Logan?"
Logan with a face of disbelief looked me in the eyes and said
   "They actually let you?"
"Yeah...they don't control my life you know. So you ready?"
   "Yep, I guess so."
This time when they walked out the glass doors they were careful as to bumping into people. When we finally got outside, I gasped at how much colder I suddenly became because of the coolness of the ice cream. This, I thought to myself, was going to be one heck of an adventure.
