The life of a wild power, my story (pt.7)
|
I heard a banging on the door downstairs and it made us both jump. I got up and slid out of the room and ran into Andy.
“Hey, what’s going on?” I asked.
“I don’t know but by the way it sounds, it’s the police.”
“What?!”
“Every time Charisma comes back they show up at my door, looking for her. Hey, come with me and take off the necklace they’ll know you’re from the human world. He said pointing at the necklace. I pulled the necklace off and padded slowly down the stairs behind him. He opened the door.
“Alright Andy, I know she’s here this time.” The officer said bluntly.
“Now George, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t play dumb with me, Andy.” the middle aged man stepped in the door.”Who’s this, I never seen him before.”
“He’s a friend.”
“He looks human.”
“He’s a werewolf.”
“Do you ever speak for yourself boy?” The officer jeered at me.
“Yes.” I said bluntly as anger surged through me.
“So where are you from?” he said as he jammed his baton into my side.
“What’s it to ya?” I said. Anger pulsed through me I could feel something in me change.
“Don’t play with me.”
“The human world.” As soon as I said it I felt the baton come down across my back. I fell to the floor.
“What’s he doing here?!” He demanded from Andy.
“He’s Charisma’s boyfriend. He comes over every once in a while to give me an update on her.” Andy lied.
“So she’s really not here?” The officer said looking at me for a clue that we were lying.
“Nope, not here.” Andy jeered.
“I know you’re lying and I will catch her sometime.” He said before whipping his head toward the stairs. It made me and Andy look too. I could smell her, she was in the room.
“Well, if you don’t mind I’d like to get some sleep.” Andy said as he opened the door again. The officer left, but Andy held up his hand for a second.
“Okay, Seth. Let’s get some sleep.” He said cautiously. We all waited in silence for about five minutes until we knew he left.
“Charisma! You could have gotten yourself killed. What were you thinking?!” Andy said harshly as Charisma appeared and rushed over to me.
“I… I couldn’t let him hurt him.” She said as she helped me to my feet. “Does it hurt?” she asked sincerely. “Every time, one of these days that man will get what he deserves.”
“Come into the kitchen, we’ll get you cleaned up.” Andy said as he walked away. I followed with Charisma holding me up. The man could get a good swing in for his age.
