The life of a wild power, my story(pt.5)
|
We stepped into a darker calmer world, this was the shadow world. ‘This is nothing like I pictured it.’ I thought. I watched as she carefully removed her necklace.
“What did you think it would be more chaotic?” She smiled slyly at me.
“Wha..?” I was blown away how did she know what I was just thinking.
“I’m in my own world and I can read minds.” She spoke slowly. “I was just wondering what you thought of. I won’t read you mind all the time.”
“Oh, Okay.” I said as I let her lead me down the street to a small cottage like house. We went to the front door. – Bang!-Bang!-Bang!
“I’m coming.” I heard a man’s voice through the thick wood door. I stepped back into the shadows. I don’t know why, maybe it was instinct. The door opened slowly.
“Charisma?!” The man or thing said excitedly.
“Shhhh!!!” She whispered as she pushed him back through the door and reached back and grabbed my hand and pulled me through the door.
“Who’s this?” He said suspiciously as he eyed me.
“Andy, this is Seth. He works for dad.” She said pulling me into the light.
“You brought a human here!!!!” He screeched as he lifted a gun for the mantel.
“Andy! He’s a werewolf.” She yelled quickly. “Now keep your voice down.”
“Okay.” He said as he lowered the gun away from my face. “Good thing I didn’t fire…, silver bullets.”
“Andy!”
“What?! It’s true. Come over here and give me a hug.” Charisma rushed over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“God, I’ve missed ya’ll so much.” She said pulling away from him. “Where is Corinne?”
“Upstairs resting.”
“Is she sick?”
“Nope. Run up there and say hi.” He said pointing to a set of stairs off to the right. Charisma bound up the stairs two at a time.
“You! Sit!” He spoke forcefully. I sat in a large armchair in front of me. “Why is she here?”
“Um… Mr. Sheldon sent her for a ‘real meal’.”
“Okay, why are you with her?” He questioned.
“To protect her.”
“I’m here, she’s fine.”
“I didn’t want to come, but Mr. Sheldon said he pay me extra to come along.”
“So you’re a werewolf? How’s that working out for you in the human world?”
“I’ve never taken off the necklace.”
“Oh, you’ve never been here, have you?” He said realizing I don’t really know the extent of my power.
“No. my family left when the rumors started about…”
“The werewolf uprising.”
“Yeah.”
“Aaaahhhh!” Charisma screamed from upstairs. I jumped out of the chair and ran up the stairs barely even touching the ground.
