Story Book Romance *Intro*
|
"Cameron please don't do this! I love you so much."
"I love you too Keeli, but this just isn't working..."
"But we can MAKE it work. I'm begging you, please don't do this to me. Not now. Not tonight. Not over the phone."
"I'm Sorry Keels, its just not going to get any better. You know I don't want to do this, but I just don't see how it could possibly work out."
"So I'm guessing this would be a bad time to tell you I'm pregnant."
"Preg-pregnant?"
Silence.
"Keeli, you just had your period didn't you?"
"No. When you asked if it was 'that time of the month' I lied. I wasn't ready to tell you."
"What are you going to do?"
"I don't know."
"Will you tell me when you make a decision?"
"Maybe. Goodnight Cameron."
"Keel, wait."
"I'm so sorry. I'm a horrible person. I vowed never to sink that low and I did."
"What do you mean?"
"I lied. I'm not pregnant. I'm so sor-"
Click.
Keeli laid the phone down on the bed and wiped a tear from the corner of her eye. She couldn't believe this was happening. She was so in love with Cameron, and she knew he still loved her, so why was he doing this the night before their 11 month anniversary? Walking over to her closet she pulled out the painting she had finished earlier that evening. It was a replica of Cameron's favorite picture of them at homecomming. Keeli wanted to burn it, but instead just laid it down on her bed along with everything else Cameron and his family had ever given her.
-----------------------------------Later that Night---------------------------------------------------
Keeli hauled the last of 3 garbage bags upstairs and dug in her pocket for the car keys. She loaded each black bag into the back of her Durango and slammed the hatch shut. She slid into the driver's seat and put the key in the ignition. Keeli had ony been driving to school for about two months now but she really was a good driver. She had passed her road test with flying colors and was trusted with her dad's car ever since.
------------------------------------After School------------------------------------------------------
Keeli was so glad the day was over. Everyone knew what happened and she didn't know which hurt more, the looks of pity from her classmates or the look or annoyance on her teachers' faces when no one would stop talking about the breakup. Slowly she manuvered her car down Cameron's driveway. Seeing the red Ford 4x4 in the driveway, Keeli swore.
"Shit. He's home."
