I'll be here, always
|
Hi everyone I'm Jamie! I'm a thirteen yr old girl with an attitude! But enough about me, I'm here to tell my story. The story that is my life. It's not always perfect, infact it's usually not. But i continue to make the best of it and go on, for what else can i do?
I woke up in the middle of the night and was really thirsty i decided to go down stairs and get some water. I found my daddy just about to leave for work. My dad doesnt just work at a normal job, he's a firefighter. I'm always worried about him getting stuck in a fire. I know that he puts his life on line for someone else. He had just got a call to go and put out a small fire in a field. I got my water and told him that i loved him. I always say "I love you" before he leaves, because i dont know if i'll see him again. I love you is the last thing i say to him in the morning because it's such a powerful sentence. And like always my dad said i'll be here always. That's what he says right after i say i love you.
I went back to bed, feeling safe, like nothing could hurt me. When my alarm went off, i had to leave the comfort of my sweet covers. I got dressed and went down stairs. Everything was the same, my pesky brother wa stealing all the ceral and my mom was drinking her coffee. Of course my daddy wasnt there. I ate my breakfast and said good-bye to my mom.
I met up with my friend Lauren at the bus stop. We climbed on and started to listen to her ipod. We always listen to music on the rid to school. It soothes us both and helps us to start the day off. I was talking with my friends when the boys got on.
There's the boys that are "bad". They cuss constently and wear ugly "ganster" clothes. As usual they took the seat behind us. We sit at the back so there's not much room. They too listen to ipod, but instead of using headphones they blast it really loud. The kind of music THEY listen to is the farthest thing from soothing. It's usually some stupid guy sreaming into a microphone. not much music if you ask me.
We got to the school and everything was going fine, until i got to lunch. Kids were being pulled out of school right and left. I smiled at the teachers gathering students up. Most looked away, and some smiled weakly back. I wondered what was going on. None of my friends seemed to know. Then a small girl came up to me.....
I didnt know her and i really just wanted to know what was going on. She looked like she was in second grade. I wondered why she was at the high school. I said a quick hello and started to look around frantically. Where is everyone going? To say i was worried is an understatement.
The little girl just kept looking at me. I figured she had gotten lost and was someones yougner sister. Or maybe she fallowed her mom into here. I was meaning to ask her if she wanted help, but i was really busy. All my friends were leaving and preety soon i was the only one left at my table.
Finally i paid attension to the girl and asked her what she was doing here. She told me that my mom wanted to see me in the front office.
How would she know? Was she sent from someone to get me too? I decided to just agree and she pulled my hand down to the front office. I got there and my mom was waiting to tell someone to go get me. I guess she just overheard her asking. When i swated down to say thank you, she was gone.
My mom saw me and told the office good-bye. As i got closer to her face, i saw a tear streaked woman with no make up. Her hair wasnt even done. She looked really old and worried.
Why is EVERYONE worried?? What's GOING ON?!
i wanted to ask my mom so bad, but something in my gut to me to wait for her to tell me herself.
