We spent that night eating cookies and ice-cream along with all the other candy and junk food we could find in her kitchen and we still ordered pizza. It brought back a lot of memories because we used to do this all the time.
We were watching a lot of movies too. We watched Scary movie, Clueless, cruel intentions, The break fast club, and step up.
We were laughing and for a while it took my mind off everything… that is, until HE called.
I saw his name blinking on my phone. I heard Kelly Clarkson “Never again” which was the ringtone I had set for him while driving over here. But I still couldn’t bring myself to answer the phone.
I was in a daze and since I wasn’t moving I guess Rachel decided she should do it.
“Hello?” She answered. She put it on speaker.
“Hello? Mia?” Sean asked confused.
“No. You wont be graced with her conversation tonight, mine however will just have to do.” She said rudely.
“O..kay?”
“Yeah so I hear you’re deaf to the word no.”
“I’m not.”
“Oh really? Huh. That’s funny because I do believe that’s what Mia was telling me.” She said sounding sarcastic.
I got up from the bed and was about to leave but Rachel grabbed my arm and wouldn’t let me.
“It wasn’t like that… I didn’t mean to-” I heard Sean say.
“-Look you disgusting Pervert!” Rachel yelled cutting him off mid sentence. “If you ever, and I mean EVER put your hands on her again, it wont be her you’ll have to worry about. I will see to it personally that your little half inch weenie gets chopped off and shipped to Finland!” She hung the phone up.
I didn’t have any words. I couldn’t even begin to describe how embarrassed I was. I didn’t have any smart remarks like I normally would. I couldn’t even think straight!
I glanced over at the clock and saw that it was 11:46p.m.
“I think I should go…” I got up and put my shoes on quickly.
“What? Why?”
“I just- look…” Still no words. I shook my head as if to say ‘never mind’. I grabbed my phone and went over to give Rachel a hug.
“I’ll call you when I get in okay?” I said pulling my hoodie over my head.
“You cant just leave at this time of night Mia.” She stood up and looked out the window. “It’s really late and that a pretty long ride.”
“I’ll be fine.”
I raced down her steps and out the front door. Once I got into my car and started the engine I felt a little better. I got on the highway and it wasn’t completely deserted like I thought it would be, but I was tired.
About 20 minutes into the ride I found myself dozing off behind the wheel. I rolled down the window to keep myself awake and turned on the radio.
Somewhere between trying to keep myself awake and singing along to Yung berg “The business” A deer came out of nowhere and then it was black…
