I hopped back into the shower for about another 30 minutes before Getting out. I was beginning to have those flash backs more frequently lately and it was getting me nervous. They hadn’t been as bad as when I was a kid, but they were still occurring. I didn’t like that.
I went into my room again and put on a pair of black sweat pant and a cute white shirt. I wasn’t in the mood to dress up right now. I just wanted to go to the mall, find a cute outfit, and get out. I needed something sexy, but not too revealing. Something that showed all of my curves, and kept him guessing. I needed to make sure that it reminded him of the girl he met last night, but that it didn’t make me seem too much like a party animal.
I put on some shoes and applied some lipgloss. I didn’t wear a lot of make up. I only applied eyeliner and eye shadow. I didn’t use all the extra’s such as false eyelashes, blush, and lip liner. My eyelashes were naturally long and full, my lips were perfect, and my face was blemish free. No need to apply all the unnecessary stuff.
When I went into the living room, Sarah was still wide-awake. I thought for that sure she would be sleeping by now. I guess she really wasn’t tired.
“Sarah, c’mon. I gotta go to the mall and pick up a few things.” I said grabbing my keys and purse from off the table.
“I thought you didn’t wanna go out?” She asked suspiciously.
“I never said I didn’t. I simply stated that you needed more than four hours of sleep. But since it looks like you’re not getting any sleep anytime soon, lets go.”
When we got to the mall, I saw a lot of people I knew. People were dragging themselves through the mall, still sleepy from the party last night.
“Great party Des!” My friend Eric said passing by with his girlfriend.
“It was something major,” Syndi added on.
We had never been that close, more like semi-associates. She was okay I guess, we had just never clicked.
I waved and smiled while passing them by, but I wasn’t up for conversation. I was on a mission, and I’ll be damned if I let my guard down.
Sarah and I went to all our favorite stores, but I was still lacking an outfit for tonight.
“Ugh! This is torture!” I screamed going over to sit on a bench.
“What is? Ya know, you’ve been kinda stressed every since we stepped foot in this mall. Is there something you wanna tell me?” She asked, while sitting down beside me with her 3 bags.
Yea there’s something I wanna tell you, alright. Lets start with, I know who killed my parents and in order to get revenge on him I’m gonna date his son and slowly but surely, I’m gonna ruin his life.
“No, It’s just that I have a date tonight, and I have nothing to wear!”
“What!” She screeched. “And when were you gonna tell me?”
I sighed and slumped down into the bench. “I was gonna tell you… eventually”
“Well look, I can help you pick out an outfit, but you have to tell me all about this mystery man” She said with a sly grin.
I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. I thought about it for a second. Just because I was going out on a fake date, didn’t mean anyone had to know why. Actually, for all they knew, I really like him. There was no harm in telling her a little about him, well at least whatever he had told me. Don’t wanna sound like I’ve been stalking the poor guy, even though I have.
I looked up. “Fine, you can help but-“ I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. In the middle of my wardrobe panic, I had sat in front of the outfit. This was the outfit that I was gonna wear tonight. This was the outfit that I had to wear.
“Change in plans, I don’t need help anymore” I got up and ran toward the window display. Sarah was by my side in mere seconds.
“Its gorgeous!” She said smiling ear to ear.
I grabbed her hand and dragged her into the store.
I have to have that dress.
