She was standing in the doorway of my bedroom with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Mom? what are you doing home so early?" I said a little ambarrased.

"I told you I had an early day today. I had a meeting at the office and then I had a doctor's appointment."

I stood up from the bed and tried to laugh the whole thing off. Justin stood up too.

"Hi Ms. Roberts" he went over and gave her a hug.

"Hi Justin, I havent seen you in so long. Hows your mom?"

"Oh she's fine. She just returned from a buisness trip."

My mom nodded her head. "well tell her to call me, its been ages"

"will do" he replied.

I clapped my hands once to grab their attention. "well, mom, um... we were tryna study so... maybe you could show youself out"

"Studying what? sex ed?" she said making a weird face. "Bye mom. Oh and im going out tonight. I might be in a little late"

"sure. just keep your cell on"

"ok" i replied, then shut the door.

We stood in silence for about twenty seconds.

"was that awkward? or was it just me?" he said taking his seat again.

"Nah, it was awkward" I said laughing.

[cell phone ringing]

Justin scrambled the bed for his cell phone and then picked it up.

"Hey baby. whats up?"

I got angry. Why does she have to ruin my moment?

"Yeah im here now"

pause.

"ok. did you check the times?"

pause.

"Ok cool. we'll be by to pick you guys up in 20 minutes."

pause.

"I love you too.... bye"

I got even madder. But then I realized he had said "You guys"

"Hey Justin, what did you mean when you said I'll be by to pick you guys up?"

"Oh Michael is gonna meet us at Monica's house."

I hadforgotten about Michael. After kissing Justin, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go out with him anymore.

"Um... Ameila... You do know that cant happen again right? I mean, If Monica found out she would kill us"

I looked down at my hands and nodded.

"Yeah I know."

He sensed the sadness in my voice and lightly brushed his hang against my cheek. "hey, im sorry. I should'nt have played with your emotions that way."

I looked him in the eyes. "Its not your  fault."

"so are you okay?"

I nodded. "Hey, at least now we know what it would've been like right"

He laughed. "yeah..."
