My eyes open and adjust to the welcoming darkness all around me. Wherever I am, I like it because it is warm and soft but firm. The uncomfortable firmness drives me to move and without realizing it, I use my newly activated muscles to stand and soak in my surroundings. I scream as unfamiliar images and colors spring to life before me. The motion sensitive lights have been activated. I scream. Over my screams I did not hear the slight beeps from the other side of the door across the room.

BAM!!

I scream, fear renewed.  I looked up only in time to catch a glimpse of a tired old mans’ face, stricken with worrying love. He thrust his strong, old, fragile arms around me and said surprisingly gently,

            “Shhhh, I’m here now. Everything is going to be okay.” He rocks me gently and just as suddenly as he had entered the room, he sat me up and said, in a taught, proper, smooth, and yet crisp accent that I hadn’t noticed before,

            “Now that’s quite enough of that. If you settle down, I’ll explain it all.” .....

CaPlanePourToi It's very good. Could use some more detail of the room. Yes he's screaming at the lights, but what's so frightening? It's hard to create a mental image with only "unfamiliar colors and images". I like it though.
