Chapter nine.
I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror…I hated what I saw…sure I was pretty. I was never one to be conceited, but sure, I guess I look good.
But when I looked at myself. Truly look, I hated what I saw. I wasn’t happy. But those minutes with Jess, were the best ever. Yes, even though I was crying, I was happy.
I like the way he makes me feel. I can forget all my problems and just be with him…
I splashed water on my face, whipped away all the make-up, dried my hands, and threw my hair up in a messy bun. I looked about 14 instead of 19 without my make-up. But that ok by me, I’d rather look younger than my real age of 16, than older.

She was walking back towards me, and I couldn’t help but noticed how beautiful she looks without all that junk on her face. She truly is beautiful! And I’m not just saying that.
Her face was so clean; her hair was pulled away from her face and into a bun. This is true beauty.
“You ready then?” She asked me.
“Yeah, let’s get going.” I replied, and we made our way to my black Saturn.
Don’t you just hate those moments, if you have ever watched a movie, and the guy turns his car on, and really loud rap, or scream-o music just blares threw the speakers, deafening you.
This wasn’t one of those moments…not quite. I opened the door for her, and she slid in. then I closed her door. Walked over to the driver’s side, slid in and closed the door. I started the care, and the song by Roberta Flack, called ‘the first time ever’ was playing. Such a mushy song that depresses me…it wasn’t blasting, just loud enough for you to hear every single word. And we sat in the car just like that, until the song ended.
Then we kinda smiled to each other, and went on out way.
As we were pulling up to her house, I saw her Boyfriend Chris standing by his car, I guess waiting for her.
I looked over at Sam, and the look she had was a def sign that she didn’t want to be anywhere neat him. So I kept driving.
I drove to the end of the block, and then stopped. She looked over at me, with a questioning glance.
“I figured you didn’t want to be around him.”
“Ok…but where is this place?”
“Uhh…the end of your block. Haven’t you lived here your whole life?”
“Yeah...but who’s house?”
“Why did you just ask a question that you already know the answer to? It’s my APARTMENT, not house…”
“It’s a big apartment.”
“No it’s not…it is a house, someone just rents out the rooms as apartments. It’s weird…”
“Yeah….it matches you.”
“Are you saying I’m weird?”
“Duh! Loser. Haha”
“I thought so….Thanks!”
We walked up into the building and into my little apartment space, that is just 2 rooms…the bathroom, and one big room. The big room has a full bed, and a couch. A small TV on a book shelf. Surrounded by tons of books.
This is my home….
